In this episode, I speak to the writer Jessica Andrews about her experience of navigating the city as a young working-class woman. Jessica grew up in the North, before moving to London to study at uni. Her first novel Saltwater is based on her own experiences of leaving home and coming of age in the city, before taking some time out in Ireland. We speak about developing class consciousness, never being able to return home once you've left and how loving and leaving the city affected her.

Avid traveller Kishanth Javegar is a photographer who’s dedicated to challenging our narrow perceptions of less-frequented destinations. His work has been featured by the likes of the Guardian and SUITCASE magazine, and most recently he held his first exhibition in London that showed a different side of Palestine to what we are usually shown. In this episode, we talk about his trip to Ethiopia and how visiting his first predominantly black country made him realise how much society has embedded an unconscious black bias within all of us. He shares all that Ethiopia has to offer and how we can all try and be a little more adventurous when we travel.
