Unearthing Wellbeing // Marieke Rodenstein
This week on the podcast I had Marieke Rodenstein. Marieke is a Holistic Dietitian, Nutritionist and Functional Medicine Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in her field. She has worked as a holistic dietitian in the Netherlands, India and Sydney and has run her private practice in Melbourne for the past 9 years.   Marieke holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of The Hague in The Netherlands and has completed the ADAPT Functional Medicine training through the Kresser Institute in the USA. She is also a certified GAPS practitioner and Mindd practitioner, has contributed to books by Sarah Wilson and Michelle Bridges and was a long standing expert for Sarah Wilson’s I Quit Sugar program.   We spoke about her health battles which have ultimately been the basis of what she does now as a career. Marieke offers an informative stance on how to look after our gut health, “stripping the layers of the onion” to get to the root cause.    I really think you will enjoy this episode, as much as I enjoyed chatting with Marieke, she is informative but digestible to those who don’t have a degree in the area, and you will be left motivated and wanting to apply for suggestions right away.    You can find Marieke at the below links: https://thenutritionpractice.com.au   To find out the whole story, tune into this week's episode.    Topics covered: marieke rodenstein, holistic dietician, dietitian, nutritionist, functional medicine practitioner, the nutrition practice ask elizabeth, holistic health, self care   + Follow me on Insta @_askelizabeth  + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of Unearthing Wellbeing! + Head to my website www.askelizabeth.com.au to shop & for more details   I really appreciate your support and hope you’ve got a lot out of this episode that will help you in your own quest of self discovery. Unearthing Wellbeing // Casey Beros
This week on the podcast, I had Casey Beros. She is an author, presenter, facilitator and journalist. She helps people tackle the obstacle course of life with candour, humour and a few swear words thrown in for good measure. You’ll find her on your TV screens, in your ears as a podcast and audiobook host and across Australia’s leading digital platforms. She has two little girls, arguably the world’s best husband and a raging addiction to snacks - plus a burning desire to help us all make peace with our past and (best) friends with our future.    We discussed her journey to get to where she is now and how it can be sometimes difficult to sift through the BS influencers put out regarding health and determine what is real.    PLUS she gave us some insight into her stealth help book which has sold out in many places already. Known as a bestie in a book: The Bad Girls Guide To Better. I purchased my signed book from her website here: https://www.caseyberos.com!   I won’t spoil too much for you, I implore you to take a listen for yourself.  You can find Casey at the below links: IG: @caseyberos   To find out the whole story, tune into this week's episode.    Topics covered: casey beros, health journalist, author, facilitator, Australian, the bad girls guide to better, stealth help book, guide, ask elizabeth, holistic health, self care   + Follow me on Insta @_askelizabeth  + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of Unearthing Wellbeing! + Head to my website www.askelizabeth.com.au to shop & for more details   I really appreciate your support and hope you’ve got a lot out of this episode that will help you in your own quest of self discovery. Unearthing Wellbeing // Cassandra Gozel
This week I had my good friend Cassandra Gozel on the podcast. Perfect timing as she has just launched her business The Healing Avenue.    Cassandra and I met back when I was working part time at Chemist Warehouse, and we have been friends ever since. She is such a beautiful soul, who cares so deeply and that is evident both in her personal and professional life.    Mutually interested in the holistic health space, bouncing ideas and thoughtful discussions and learning off each other. She is so inspiring and to be honest, her passion makes me want to go back and study naturopathy too.   Cassandra is a fully accredited Naturopath with a Bachelor of Health Science. However, throughout her studies, she felt called on an emotional and spiritual level too, which led her to become a Reiki Master as well as a Theta Healer.    Devoted to the people she heals on a holistic level, treating the mind, body and spirit, she decided to create her own space to do just that, to uncover the root cause of issues clients came in with and allow them to heal.   You will learn more about it throughout our conversation, however if you feel called to discover, she is offering a free 10 minute call, which you can simply book via her website.    You can find Cassandra at the below links: https://www.thehealingavenue.com.au IG: @thehealingavenue_ FB: @thehealingavenue   To find out the whole story, tune into this week's episode.    Topics covered: naturopath, naturopathy, reiki healer, reiki, theta healer, theta healing,  holistic healing, cassandra gozel, the healing avenue, ask elizabeth, holistic health, self care   + Follow me on Insta @_askelizabeth  + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of Unearthing Wellbeing! + Head to my website www.askelizabeth.com.au to shop & for more details   I really appreciate your support and hope you’ve got a lot out of this episode that will help you in your own quest of self discovery. Unearthing Wellbeing // Evan Karavitis
On the podcast this week, I had Evan Karavitis, who is the Founder and Director of The Wild Olive, he believes that food is the best way to connect with people. It is through his love for food, health and his connection between his roots in Australia and Motherland, Greece, that The Wild Olive was born. Evan is committed to his cause - ingesting The Wild Olive each day over the last 12 months, for its many known health benefits. His cherished wife, Pinar, enjoys cooking with The Early Harvest for his family. Family holds a large value in Evan’s heart. When he is taking a break from his active endeavors, Evan enjoys spending time with his family, all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance and maintaining optimum health with The Wild Olive. The benefits of olive oil have been heralded for centuries. New to the market, Australian-owned “The Wild Olive” is proudly producing some of the most delicious and nutrient dense Olive Oil in the world, harvested from trees traditionally found in Southern Greece. While olive oil is not new to most people, The Wild Olive promises something completely different from the more familiar (and boutique) brands commonly available. Its premium olives are grown on trees that can range in age up to 1000’s of years nestled in the wild mountainous region of Laconia in Southern Greece, where premium Olive Oil has been produced for as long as people have existed. It is a landscape completely free of chemical fertilisers and pesticides that supports specific species of olive trees unique to the area. Soil, climate and proximity to the sea are factors that contribute to oils renowned for taste, quality and health benefits.   Best place to find us is at https://www.discoverthewildolive.com  Otherwise on my website here.   To find out the whole story, tune into this week's episode.    Topics covered: food is medicine, olive oil, discover the wild olive, greece, natural remedies, natural, antioxidant, polyphenol antioxidant, unearthing wellbeing, ask elizabeth, holistic health, self care   + Follow on Insta @discoverthewildolive + Announcements on Insta @_askelizabeth  + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of Unearthing Wellbeing! + Head to my website www.askelizabeth.com.au to shop & for more details   I really appreciate your support and hope you’ve got a lot out of this episode that will help you in your own quest of self discovery. This week I had Lauren Brant Hall on the podcast. The effervescent Lauren Brant is consciously curating a holistic lifestyle. A well-known Australian personality, multi- talented Lauren has held a host of coveted television and media roles during the span of her impressive career. A wearer of many hats, Lauren is a skilled performer, speaker, influencer and entrepreneur. Unearthing Wellbeing // Simon Hill
This week I was excited to have Simon Hill on the show. Simon is the founder of the hugely popular Plant Proof podcast and blog of the same name, and a nutritionist and qualified physiotherapist.    On top of his formal education, Simon spends hours and hours deciphering scientific studies so he can break down how to fuel your body to promote longevity and reduce the chance of developing disease while simultaneously achieving whatever health and fitness goals you may have. We spoke about episode 99 of his podcast with David Sinclair, including what the meaning of stressed plants is and how plant based supplements like Reseveratrol have powerful benefits.    Simon recently released his first book The Proof Is In the Plants, whereby 100% of the proceeds are donated to protect Rainforests. This powerhouse of a book I have purchased and am eager to dig into, however I was fortunate enough to deep dive into what I am in for during the episode. We also discussed how this all came to fruition.    He is the plant-based food contributor to Chris Hemsworth’s fitness app, Centr, and in 2019 Simon opened a plant-based restaurant, Eden, in his Sydney neighbourhood of Bondi.   This was one of the longest episodes I have recorded and I did not want it to end! Simon was brilliant in all rights and I will definitely be taking him up on his offer to have him back on the podcast down the track. Now enough from me, take a listen to the podcast yourself.    Simon can be found via website: https://plantproof.com   To find out the whole story, tune into this week's episode.    Topics covered: simon hill, plant proof, nutritionist, physiotherapist, plant proof podcast, plant proof blog, nutrition, health, wellbeing, happy place, cardio vascular disease, high blood pressure, cholesterol, vegan, wholefood, diet, balance, australia, bondi, sydney, melbourne, king lake, holistic health, self care, self care + Follow on Insta @plant_proof + Announcements on Insta @_askelizabeth  + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of Unearthing Wellbeing! + Head to my website www.askelizabeth.com.au to shop & for more details   I really appreciate your support and hope you’ve got a lot out of this episode that will help you in your own quest of self discovery.
