In this episode, I chat with Kefilwe, whose experience defines her as a qualified Chartered Accountant. She is the head of finance for Standard Bank’s Personal and Private Banking Divisions in Gauteng. In parallel to her mainstream career milestones, Kefilwe’s track record as a ‘catalytic connector’ and her heart for ‘root-cause’ social change define her as a leader in the areas of people-centric sustainable value creation, diversity and inclusion, and socioeconomic transformation. With a track record that characterizes her as someone who always looks for strategies and tactics that have high payoffs, Ms. Pitsie’s journey has validated her as a unique, collaborative leader with a balanced strength in strategy and operations.

Manqoba is a 34-year-old self-starter, whose obsession with self improvement and self awareness drove him to find a way out of mentally dark places and climb towards personal, academic and career success. He currently works at Meta (formerly known as Facebook) as a Business Development Manager for International Music Publishing in London. Having left audit for the music industry in 2017, he’s made some inroads using the skills derived from his CA training to become a focused, disciplined and results-driven professional. His multiple skills in the professional environment, including audit, finance, corporate finance consulting, executive management and now music rights deal-making has pushed him to become a well-rounded and self-aware leader in business. This also came with many challenges from starting over and dealing with steep learning curves to mastering imposter syndrome in his quest to make an impact and grow his career. So join me as we uncover how his passion for music impacted his career choice as a Chartered Accountant.

Our guest in this episode is Onalenna Halenyane a qualified CA, and a Registered Auditor (RA). She has rich external audit experience in various industries, both in the private and public sectors. She is a partner at PwC’s Cape Town office and has been with the firm for more than 14 years. She services clients in the insurance, asset & wealth management, retirement funds, medical schemes, as well as the education industry. She has also worked in the PWC Maputo, Walvis Bay and Lagos offices for audit and quality reviews. In 2021, she graduated with an MBA from African Leadership University in Rwanda. During her career, Onalenna has also volunteered for various non-profit organizations. This includes being the Secretary of ABASA Free State for several years. Onalenna believes that finding her voice and not being afraid to speak up is what got her to this point in her career.
