Great content. Hate the fake voices
I really find it disruptive to listen to fake AI voices representing an interview. Ick.

Did you really have to use the phrase “cover girl”?
Why? It’s 2026 not 1926.
Wide Awake and Dreaming
What happened? It’s all ads now?
I used to love this podcast. Keeping up with the comings and goings in Silicon Valley and the effects of huge technology industries on personal lives was fascinating. But I was just listening to the episode with the interview of Rebecca Kutler. The first bad sign was our host saying she was going to read from the press release (which she “rarely” does), then proceeds to a verbatim reading of ad copy. She then lets Kutler wax commercially about the new offerings from MS-NOW. The offerings are great, no doubt. But Kutler’s basically there to drive home a sales point. It’s bad enough podcasts are replete with advertising but now the content itself is an ad? No thanks.

Can’t take the valley up-speak
The ads (ads on other podcasts) for Uncanny Valley have better elocution than that of Uncanny Valley itself. So sophomoric. Too many “likes” every half sentence. I stopped using fillers like “like” in high school. How about some public speaking lessons?

Great Podcast
Great podcast, thoughtful reporting. I love Wired’s podcasts and tech coverage. It’s consistently great work and they talk about real things in a balanced way.
Honestly, would probably be a paying subscriber for the magazine again except that Condé Nast makes it too hard to unsubscribe.

Informative and entertaining
The hosts are extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of tech development topics – even as they relate to domestic politics, and they are also surprisingly warm and even funny. I really appreciate their work!

Opinion, not tech news
Good format and execution. Sold as tech news source, and at first sounded like info on AI and its effects on society. But then the names of politicians came up again and again. Not what I came to hear.

Not just for techies
Enjoyable and informative

Highly Enjoyable
Really love all things Wired! For me there is lots of new information and an informal presentation style I really like.

Let The Guests Answer The Questions
I’m trying to be polite, but KD needs to pull back and let the guests speak before we hear her take. Please please please wait for them to finish their sentences. It’s unbearable. Please stop interrupting. Please. We’ll learn about your take as we go. Unfortunately it’s hard to make it through an episode when only half the answers are heard.

Now with scoldy mom vibes
This used to be one of my favorite podcasts, but try as they might, the current news episode hosts cannot capture any semblance of Lauren and Michael’s magic. The new hosts sound like the lunch table of obnoxious high-strung school newspaper kids, but who are also trying to also mimic the way a millennial cool kids table talks. It’s hard to sit through. And Katie Drummond is not a good verbal interviewer. Her tone is hard and she’s not skilled in collaborative interruptions- they don’t flow. They’re clunky and stutter the flow of conversation.

Too much general news
I unfollowed because I don’t need wireds take on national news. I was listening for tech focused analysis. Too bad

Like the lunchroom gossip table
Catty idiots who have never ever said anything insightful about technology or even its impact on culture. They do nothing but gossip.

Definitely Not Overhyped
Love you guys. AI job loss is happening NOW. Chez moi: In a 4 unit building, 3 people laid off. All in different fields, 2 of 3 graduated college w/ “practical” majors, all w/ minimum 10 years experience. None w/ job prospects. All lost health insurance.

Decent start on the new format
Great conversation.

Enjoying the new format
Good conversation among informed hosts, nice variety of topics.

Like listening to your smart friends talk
When listening the host talk its like being at a cocktail party and listening to my smart friends talk about things I don’t know much about. Easy to listen to and informative.

My new favorite show
Love a hot take on the wired news of the week. I do love the threesome - Zoey, Brian and Lia. They play off each other really well. Things I hear on this podcast pop out in my conversations and into my slack. Great stuff.

Too much politics for a tech show
I follow Wired for tech news, and I’ve been growing frustrated as there has been more and more political content and commentary added. Now there are entire segments having nothing to do with tech anymore (e.g., Evie magazine). You’ve lost your focus, Wired.

Informative
Very informative!

Love the new format
I appreciate the candid takes and the new hosts knowing what they’re talking about

Might Unfollow
Not a fan of the new overly “youth” gossip vibe content. Feels more tabloid than news now. Might unsubscribe if this trend In Uncanny Valley continues.

Bye I’ll miss you.
I’ve never really liked the other hosts. So I guess this is a good time to jump ship.

So Self-Congratulatory
The number of times they talk about about “the great reporting” their “awesome reporters” do has gotten to a point where it’s distracting and annoy.

Data centers & water use
On today’s episode someone suggested that data centers should probably be located more frequently in areas with more plentiful water supplies - in an ideal world, yes.
Then they offered a couple of examples of allegedly well watered states, including Texas.
Guys , we’re in an extended drought down here with booming population growth and few new water sources in sight - so check your assumptions please.
As if the data industry cared, of course.

Meh
If you want more uncritical thinking on topics everyone else is talking about from yet another Democrat Progressive hivemind, this is your podcast! You’d think it at least be tech oriented, more than half of it is just unhinged political commentary..

Podcasts don’t work
Some of us with hearing problems need transcripts. It is very disappointing to see an article but not be able to read it

Why didn't you ask?
People are being disappeared, every inch of the admin is corrupt and destroying our country-we're not quibbling over ballrooms.

Great Show, Hot Take
I love Uncanny Valley. It’s great to hear smart ppl talking about complex things with nuance , facts, and humor. HOT TAKE: the interview show is not a great use of Katie Drummond’s vast skill set. I would prefer a weekly audio essay or hearing her wrestling ideas with more than one person. The interview format is limiting, at least as long as the guests have to be well known.

Great content but too much vocal fry
The content’s informative and interesting if you can listen to prolonged syllables and gravity defying pitch dips.

WIRED is IMPERATIVE
The reporting that WIRED has been doing is exceptional. It’s also so important to our understanding of the technology we live amidst. I think we all owe a debt to WIRED for their integrity, clarity and knowledge.

Excellent Journalists!
Wish so-called “mainstream media” had such consistent professional reporting. The episode on Epstein tape metadata is stellar. Just what we citizens need to know. Thanks!

Interesting
I think this group does a great job. They are reporting on issues in tech that end users are concerned about. The podcast brings explanations, what more could you ask for?

DOWNFALL
I miss when WIRED used to report on tech and the industry overall. Since Condé Nast has begun pressuring the staff at WIRED, most notably in the last 6 months, the shift has been towards politics as they look to expand their audience and captivate more listeners. The issue is they have become something they are not, abandoning their original listers and readers. After years of being a diligent subscriber, I finally cancelled my magazine subscription in March, and now I’m unsubscribing from the podcast. It was nice while it lasted.

Needs Adult Supervision
This is not a serious show. It’s like listening to 18-year-olds chatting on things they don’t really understand.

A true “deep dive” into tech
Much better than all the interview podcasts! Reporters have actually spent time learning about things and giving their thoughtful opinions.

Brilliant
These stories are topical, thorough, digestible, and insightful. UV offers deep reporting on breaking news balanced with interesting insights into the tech industry + its actors. All of this is underpinned by well calibrated explanations of underlying tech concepts and historical background. I always take something new away from a UV episode :) The best part of the show is how sneaky funny it is. The banter between the hosts often makes me laugh out loud on my walk to work… it’s just fun to listen to smart friends talk.
On a personal note: As a WiT who’s trying to be more politically active, I feel lucky to be able to hear current events reporting from the UV team. It’s a scary (often dystopian) world out there right now in both politics and tech. I’m an anxious person and it can difficult to keep informed + activated without doom spiralling… but this podcast makes it infinitely more tolerable :) thank you, please keep up the great work!!

one of my top go-to tech podcasts
love uncanny valley! wired journalists are doing such critical original reporting right now, and this podcast is such a perfect balance of engaging and instructive while also being entirely digestible and a pleasure to listen to. it must be the personalities of the hosts, but somehow they share the dark, dire messages of the moment in a way that leave me informed but not utterly hopeless. thanks, UV!

Interesting topics but…
Interesting topics generally but way way too much focus on politics and specifically the President. I don’t want to name him because he does not deserve any additional mention online. Can we get more episodes about the goings on and inner workings in SV? Also, it wouldn’t hurt to have a gadget related show every now and then.

Great job!
I’m really enjoying this podcast. Full disclosure I’ve been a fan of wired since the very beginning. I like the balance of it being smart and human. The people on the show are interesting and accessible. Please keep it that way and not go over the top if you feel the urge. Keep up the good work!

Off to a good start, but…
Other than the very first episode, I have enjoyed this podcast. Lauren and Michael keep it lively and upbeat. More recently though, Katie Drummond has joined and it has become a rant fest. Instead of treading on this fine podcast, she should start her own.

Tariff standoff
This is for Louise there are legal sweatshops currently producing clothing in the US as we speak. They are in every state and the workers are required to go to work their health care is paid for by the state and yes they all live together
These captured workers are prison inmates and they make all their clothing including sheets socks underwear and winter coats and mattresses for minimum wage I know this because I worked in one The US has an untapped resource right at their fingertips

Great info, too much banter
I’ve enjoyed the last two episodes on surveillance, but overall have a hard time listening to this podcast because of the needless banter and sarcasm. Lauren is best imo, but is always interrupted by the other two. I think it would be great to focus more on the informative aspect and less on the conversational tone.

Audio on Surveillance ep
I love this show so much! Unfortunately the expert on the protest surveillance episode had poor audio quality and it was hard to hear his insights. Please fix this or make this info available in an analog format, thanks and keep up the great work

depressing
The journalists at WIRED don’t know what “libertarian” means? They like, literally have no idea between the three of them??? And they’re not embarrassed to admit this?

Wanted to double tap but I can’t
I wanted to like this show and have given it a long honest try but the hosts come off as kinda not serious and more interested in chatting with each other like friends. It’s a wasted opportunity of a podcast that could delve deeper into information from the magazine but instead they opt for flippant euphemism and superficial hot takes.
