Hi! Welcome to Unapologetically Me where we talk all things controversial and agree to disagree while still showing love and respect to each other. I hope my podcast brings you many different perspectives in life and opens your eyes to understanding others and the world around you. My goal in this podcast is to show different points of view and how even with friends and family we can communicate those points of view and continue our relationship even if we don't see eye to eye. Communication is so important and losing friendships/relationships over lack of good communication is becoming far too common. "Seek first to understand, then to be understood" - Stephen R. Covey
I am Woman, Hear me ROAR
High value women, things 20 year old fitness influencers say, advice from a divorced 50 year old man....these are just a few topics we're going to cover on today's episode of things or memes taken from social media. As always everything is not black and white and there is SO MUCH gray area. We just have to be open to seeing it and acknowledging it. From there we can decide what to do with the information.

Ep. 18 - Let's Talk Nutrition - Beyond The Obvious
With the holiday season upon us, I wanted to take a minute out of my controversial topics and discuss some ways that we need to look at our health. Everyone has the basic eat less move more saying down when it comes to weight loss. In this episode I share more ways to focus on the weight loss other than just eating less. That's a great start, but knowing what else effects our health other than what we eat is important. You can eat all the right things and eat less food, but if the things I discuss are not intact you may see little progress. We have to focus on the minor details that we don't think matter, when they matter almost more than what or how much you're eating! If you have any questions regarding your eating habits and how you can make changes, please reach out!

Ep. 17 - Cancel Culture, Love, Wage Gap & More
In this episode we discuss all things love, cancel culture, and the never ending wage gap saga! Every one wants the fairytale ending, but is that a realistic expectation, and when does love become a choice and no longer a feeling or infatuation? Dave Chapelle cancelled? Never! Cancel culture is becoming a toxic movement where people who go against a narrative aren't allowed to speak without being "cancelled". Some of the cancellers need to be #cancelled! Last but not least. The wage gap! Real or nah? In some circumstances it is truly an issue, but not something that can be generalized. Like many of the things we discuss in this episode and many other episodes there is alwasy so much GRAY area! Listen, learn, and be receptive to others opinions and stop cancelling just because they don't agree with yours!

Ep. 16 - Trent Denson
Little White Lies, parenting advice when you're not a parent, marital advice from a divorcee or never been married: In this episode we discuss when does a little white lie just become a lie, and giving advice on things you either don't have experience at or have "failed" at. Unsolicited advice has become even more popular now with social media. It's kind of a double-edged sword because we want to be able to speak freely, but that also comes with people being able to give their two cents freely. Should we be offering unsolicited advice especially when it's something we have no experience with?

Ep. 14 - Pro Choice or Pro Life
Recently the governor of Tx signed into law that no abortions may occur after 6 weeks. Well most women don't find out that early unless they are trying to get pregnant and tracking everything.  Of course that ramped up abortion posts on social media for and against the new law.  Abortion, like most topics is not black and white. There is a ton of gray area.  In this episode I sit with my friend and we share our differing views on abortion.  What we do agree on is that more sex education is needed as well as more resources for those mothers who do get pregnant and are unsure what to do. I hope this episode provides others with the ability to have these conversations, so that we can stop fighting with each other and provide solutions instead.  Thank you Brittany for your willingness to share your views and listen to mine!

Ep. 13 - Inside look at law enforcement
Law enforcement was a heavy topic last year. Everyone had their opinion on how things should be handled in certain situations. MOST people do not know the first thing about law enforcement and what it entails. They follow along with whatever narrative the media provides them.  This episode was created to enlighten the public on somethings they may now know and how those things affect our law enforcement officers. I have included a few links below and there are studies you can also research on your own at google.com/scholar.   One area I did not touch on is police suicide. I watched a video last year of a law enforcement office who committed suicide. He did about a 15 minute video on why he was committing suicide, which I can't say I agree with his method, but he did what he felt he needed to do. I'm including a link for a 2020 report to congress on police suicides.    https://go.gale.com/ps/i.do?id=GALE%7CA602150457&sid=googleScholar&v=2.1&it=r&linkaccess=abs&issn=00280836&p=AONE&sw=w&userGroupName=tel_oweb&isGeoAuthType=true https://www.washingtonpost.com/policeshootings/ https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/ucr/publications#LEOKA https://ucr.fbi.gov/leoka/2019/topic-pages/officers-feloniously-killed https://cops.usdoj.gov/RIC/Publications/cops-p429-pub.pdf
