Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY into a family of artists, Phoenixx discovered her love of music at the age of 3, through her uncle who exposed her to classical and gospel music. Her mother, a lover of literature, her father a musician and grandmother, a poet, helped formulate her expansive musical knowledge. With a love of poetry, Phoennix began to work on her writing. Knowing the origin of what she was doing helped develop her deep rooted respect for music. Phoenixx has worked with Brandon Hines, producers Chris N Teeb, the Arkitects, JHype, Misto and Pizzi among others. While honing her vocal skills she sang background for Yummy Bingham, Charli Red and Shalik Rivers at 106 & Park, SOB’s, BB Kings and The Bitter End. She credits artists Vanessa Williams, Brandy and Faith for influencing her sound.

Not too long after the release of 'The Venting Session' Dru Gunn$ and Noodlez linked up for an interview on Zoom during the pandemic. Dru is a hungry emcee that has been creating his own lane over the last decade. Dru is no stranger to eating emcees whether it's on a beat or a battle in the streets. During the interview Dru even manages to cook dinner for his lady. I didn't even realize it until after but this is one of the longest interviews I have done. I don't really count the clock when doing these. I just go with the flow and see where the conversation takes us. We talk about everything from 'The Venting Session' growing up, favorite albums, inspiration, lessons, life and more.
