In this 9th episode of the Trying Hard to Be Appropriate podcast, Brock, Shilo and Ryan talk about the tradition that is graduation season, as Brock's daughter recently walked the stage and Brock and Shilo were there to watch. Shilo, in a first, got there early like he was in line for concert tickets. The guys go on to recall some of their personal grad memories (or lack there of).Next, the dudes talk about their occasional love of "White People Burritos". Brock spices up this segment with a "Story Time with Brock" regarding his version of the white people burrito. This little pharmacy expedition ends with Ryan dropping his license at the drive-thru window. Brian Corn, longtime friend, Modesto native, and founding member/singer/guitarist of the band QUOR, came on and shared memories, anecdotes, and glimpses into the future of the band. Ryan and Brock have a long shared history with Brian that goes back to the repurposing of some neglected wood to construct a halfpipe in the garage of a house that Brock and Ryan lived at. Brian was present for many nights of youthful bliss at the house and the guys reflect on some of those times.Brian, now a San Diegan(?), goes on to share the history of his band, QUOR, some of their experiences on numerous state-side and international tours, and a close look at Japan as they gear up to leave in a couple of weeks on a Japan tour. They also are releasing their new single, Sam Meets Sara, on May 30th, one day prior to this episode releasing. It's a fantastic interview with an awesome dude.Next, Brian sticks around and they watch the trailer for the new Fast & Furious movie. In this first part of an extra long Mother's Day episode, Brock, Shilo, and Ryan pay respect to some of the main women in their lives. They are joined first by Ryan's mom, Kris, as her house served as a central hub for many friends when Ryan was younger. She shares stories about all three of the hosts because she was present as the three of them stumbled into adulthood. Brock had a rough week. The guys discuss his misadventures in trying to repair his daughter's car and then veer off into memories of car wrecks that they were involved in.
