George Karl is such an inspiration! Love hearing him talk on his own, let alone interviewing and catching up with other legendary ball players!! I never skip an episode.

Coach Karl!
This show is a great celebration of basketball. It’s a special insight into the game, from yesterday to what’s coming next, courtesy of one of the key figures in the sport for five decades! Keep em coming!

Possibly the worst business or sports podcast ever
Have either of these jokers achieved anything at the top of their chosen profession? Sounds like a bunch of has-beens or wannabes trying self-promote.

Fantastic!
This is a fantastic podcast. George Karl pulls no punches when it comes to his life and career in basketball and the NBA. The hosts are great as well and the topics very entertaining. As a lifelong Bucks Fan, I’ve been a George Karl follower since his fabulous run with my team. I wish he had never left and dream that one day he will return and get us and him that title! I love this podcast and glad I’ve found it - you will enjoy it as well as it delves into his experiences as well as current topics within the NBA.

Great look behind the curtain of NBA basketball
Love to hear NBA legendary coach talk candidly about decades of NBA experience and how he applies that knowledge to present day basketball. Also, hey Nuggets it’s time to bring George back into Nuggets family.

Deeply impactful conversations
This podcast keeps getting better and better. In depth analysis on elements of team, success, overcoming adversity and learning from mistakes. It's all in this collection of engaging conversations, hosted beautifully by the creators. Most importantly, the episodes on race have engaged in the tough realities of today and have opened up our eyes to systematic racism we have in our country. Coach's honesty and genuine compassion for the issues we face today as well as his reflections on days past are truly remarkable. Special guest, Coach Ham, was incredibly inspiring. I highly recommended this podcast to anyone, whether a basketball lover or not.

A Hidden Gem
At a time when truth is hard to come by and there’s a lot of noise in the podcast space, truth + basketball provides very thoughtful commentary and valuable insights. I continue to be impressed by how consistently the team releases fresh content. Keep up the great work guys!

Sam Cassell episode is gold
As a lifelong Bucks fan, it’s a joy to relive that 2001 playoff run, in spite of how it ended. The episode is a joy and Sam’s love for the game and George Karl is crystal clear.

Captivating show and perspective on hoops and life
This podcast takes a fresh look at basketball last and present so it like it really hits home and brings back some fantastic memories for a millennial like myself. But it’s hearing coach Karl reflect on his coaching career, celebrate triumphs but especially admit to mistakes that I find the most rewarding—there’s something very humbling and inspirational about hearing a HOF coach reflect on those things. Makes you want to better yourself while ask reminisce on the teams and players you followed growing up, which is a rare combination.

Great insights; Incredible background
Coach Karl provides such insightful analysis and fascinating background stories the time just flies by. Very well-moderated as well! As a Sonics fan left with no team, it is cathartic to relive some of the great moments and team Karl coached.

Super interesting and well produced
As a diehard Denver Nuggets and NBA fan, it has been great to hear so many stories and details from a very reflective coach Karl. I honestly thought I’d heard everything there is to know about the 2000s Nuggets but each episode has been packed with new little anecdotes and perspectives from George. Must listen for fans of the Nuggets, Sonics, Bucks, and the NBA.

Truth and Basketball
I have never written a podcast review, but I couldn’t resist. A Duke fan praising a ‘Carolina guy. A thoughtful and surprisingly moving production. George Karl acknowledges his significant ego, then poignantly expresses his thanks and reverence to his coaching mentors. I am a psychiatrist, and truth and relationships are my stock in trade. This first episode lived up to it’s title’s promise. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here 3/1/20–Review of Episode 5–Carmelo From the gravely voice of Coach Karl comes the truth of experience. A profound mixture of pride, regret and insight; multiplied by the lens of time. It was impossible to hear his synopsis of Carmelo’s career as Hall of Fame excellence without ever reaching the pinnacle of a championship, and not see the parallel with his own coaching resume. As with other past episodes, I am often left with a psychological/business dilemma to ponder. The delicate mixture of a mercurial talent within a team concept is perplexing. Yep, you are committed to having your star take the last second shot. However, if the blend had been more successful throughout the game; your lead (margin of error) may have made that critical shot unnecessary ( in business, as well as in sports). Continue the thought provoking podcasts

Great revealing honest commentary
Great to hear a Coach in the place George Karl is today: perspective from year's in the business, nothing to lose at this point, unafraid to share his truth. Great job on this podcast.

Truth + Basketball review
To say that I am a fan of Truth + Basketball would be an understatement. This is a rare and unique look not only into professional basketball but also into the mind of an incredibly successful leader – George Karl. I have really enjoyed his perspective on player development, interpersonal relationships, leadership generally, winning, as well as current events. My favorite episode thus far was the Kobe episode although I’m also really looking forward to Coach Karl’s upcoming conversation with Brett and Brad about Melo. Speaking of Brett and Brad, they take a great approach to the conversation and interview process and I have found it to be genuine, authentic, and heartfelt. Their level of passion and dedication to this endeavor is also crystal clear. I wish Coach Karl, Brett, and Brad the best of luck going forward and will continue to look forward to each new episode as well as support the show and promote it to friends and family.

Love George Karl!
I am a 45 year Nuggets fan... George Karl is arguably the best coach Nuggets ever had (and they had Doug Moe and Larry Brown)... I read his his books, the first one was not great (Sonics book) second one was good... they made a big stink about his criticizing players, namely Kenyon Martin and chalking it up to no Dad...but actually if you bothered to read the book he immediately followed that point by pointing out that JR Smith was uncoachable and he a good dad... anyway that was taken out of context....he should have just said Melo and Kmart were great player but selfish and moody. And left it at that because now no one will hire him which is a real shame... the dude can flat out coach...anyway I am glad he is doing this podcast

Love hearing George talk hoops
It’s easy to forget that George Karl has won more NBA games as a head coach than all but 5 other human beings on the planet until you hear him review his past career on this show. And like all great coaches in basketball history, his story is nuanced, deeply reflective, at times tragic and at times incredibly brave and inspiring. But what I like most about this show is his candor. Ultimately, to get to the places George has in his career you have to have some fearlessness, and he’s certainly not afraid to say how he feels about anything and everything.

Who’s the Boss?
Definitely living up to the promise shown in episode 1. I was surprised, but ultimately not displeased, when the focus shifted from hoops to leadership. What I originally thought was going to be a totally satisfying geography tour of Coach Karl’s experiences throughout the US and Europe, took a fascinating turn. It became a roadmap of personal growth and development. I was most taken by his thesis of communication + honesty + trust is what led to commitment. I know that this shift in content hit the mark, because I found my mind wondering to my business approach, team building and potential new directions for the future. Lastly, a special shout-out should go the hosts. Brett and Brad successfully navigated that fine line of directing the flow—while remaining unobtrusive. Also, they have clearly done their homework and were well informed with specific data. Way go. Keep up the good work. I am even more hooked than I was after the initial installment

Such a great personal look inside the man himself. The content we don’t get to hear from the usual sports radio interview. Thanks for sharing this side of Coach!

George rocks!
Coach Karl has a universe of experience and a straight-shooter approach that is uncommon in today’s world. Insight, perspective and discernment at their best!

Candid, informative and just good content!
This podcast is awesome. Truly enjoyed the first episode and excited to see/hear where this show goes. There are so many podcasts out there that seem like they could be awesome, but don’t end up delivering the goods. This is not the case here as the content is excellent. George Karl is a coaching legend and his resumé supports it. To hear him candidly share his philosophies not only about basketball, but life in general, and the lessons he’s learned on his own journey is truly fascinating. The hosts Brett and Brad are clearly looking to take a deeper dive with George and you can tell they've put a lot of time and energy into making the content interesting, informative and not strictly about sports and instead, using the game of basketball as a vehicle to share George’s life lessons/philosophies since he clearly has so much more to offer outside of the game. Keep the episodes coming! Really looking forward to hearing the next one!
