Understanding the Role of History in What We're Witnessing in Ukraine
I'm a big believer in learning from history. Understanding our mistakes and our wins from the past can help give us guidance for the here and now. In this episode, I sit down with presidential historian Paul Brandus, a historian, journalist, and frequent speaker at presidential libraries, for a look at why we're in the situation we're in, vis-à-vis Europe, Russia, and Ukraine, today. Paul and I also talk about some of his books, including Jackie: Her Transformation from First Lady to Jackie O, in which he tells us all about the challenges she faced as a single mother in the years after her husband had been assassinated and prior to marrying Aristotle Onassis. Join us for this deep dive into European and US history with an added bonus of Jackie O. For more from Paul, you can follow him on Twitter, @westwingreport. Follow me @trish_regan. Dot-Com 2.0 with Whitney Tilson: Why This Could Be the Best Time to Invest in Tech
Amid major market volatility, investors question whether we're about to see a repeat of the year 2000 in tech stocks. In this crucial edition of American Consequences, I sit down with famed hedge fund investor Whitney Tilson to explain why now might be the best time to buy tech stocks. He's naming names – or rather tickers – and helping people think through the implications of getting into solid growth companies. I most especially loved hearing how Whitney Tilson got his start. He managed to take $10,000 in savings and grow it into a $200-million hedge fund. He told me all about some of the bumps he's had along the way and why he's so committed to helping individual investors grow their portfolios. Whitney has some really entertaining stories that I know you will love hearing… not to mention some darn good picks. Sign up for Whitney's free investment newsletter at empirefinancialresearch.com. Elon Musk's $44 Billion Takeover
Elon Musk just made a significant move, and Twitter has accepted.   In today's podcast, Trish Regan sits down with Empire Financial Research's Herb Greenberg to examine how Elon might change the social media landscape… forever. Herb also shares his important thoughts on how investors can recognize great value plays long before the Twittersphere world has even heard of these companies in a viral social media environment. It's Time to Get Interested in Bonds
Interest rates are rising and are expected to increase in the coming months. It could be time to rethink your portfolio allocation since the fixed income market may, in time, look considerably more attractive. In this episode of American Consequences, Trish Regan speaks with Neil Grossman – a former physicist, mathematician, corporate attorney, central banker, and hedge fund investor – who says, "The Fed has done just about everything wrong. It's continually buried its head in the sand, refusing to recognize that too much money in the system inevitably leads to inflation." This week, we got proof of the consequences of too much stimulus by way of an 8.5% increase in consumer prices. Grossman points out that the Fed may find itself having to pull a "Paul Volcker," meaning a higher-than-expected escalation of interest rates. While that may cause a pullback in equities, Grossman points out it may also be a healthy opportunity to rethink one's fixed income portfolio.

Why Commodities Are Still The Best Hedge Against Stagflation
As gold and oil inch higher in global markets amid ongoing challenges overseas, Trish sits down with Kevin Rich, one of the original architects of some of the world's most important ETFs in the commodity space. Rich tells Trish to "prepare for more volatility and a higher interest rate environment" while conflicts overseas continue. How should investors think about their portfolios and how can they safeguard their assets best? Listen to this edition of American Consequences with Trish Regan to find out.

The End of Globalism
If the horror of what is transpiring in Ukraine and Russia has taught us anything, it's that we need to be self-reliant. It is critical for our domestic, economic, and national security that we turn back to ourselves. It's one of the reasons why Trish is so bullish on the long-term health of America. In this podcast, Trish is joined by Mark Moss, Market Analyst and Host of Market Disruptors, who argues that the phase we are now in, "this move towards domestic, economic, and national security," is to be expected. We've allowed ourselves to veer off course (for relying on Russia for an energy supply) and are getting an opportunity to "Reset." Find out what it means for your investments and why it's so critical to go local in this new prosperous, grounded future in this week's episode.

Inflation Has Just Begun
As tensions escalate between Russia and Ukraine, Trish sits down with noted geopolitical and macroeconomics strategist Marko Papic, Partner and Chief Strategist at the Clocktower Group, to look at how to best position your portfolio. Papic warns the Fed may not be able to raise rates as quickly as it intended, given the increasing threat of recession. "Energy prices," he says, "will continue to escalate, providing a positive environment for energy investing." Other sectors he likes include materials and Real Estate, but he warns it will be a delicate balance between the inflation heading our way and the danger that could cause a massive consumer pullback. Find out how to best position your portfolio amid these ongoing challenges. Ostrich Economics: Why the Fed Needs to Get Its Head Out of the Sand
With the Fed finally moving on interested rates, Trish Regan sits down with noted investor, physicist and former central banker, Neil Grossman, for a look at the massive inflation creeping into our economy. According to Neil, the Fed is very much at fault. In fact, he tells her, "Jerome Powell is the financial equivalent of COVID." Neil argues that Powell "has created a kind of eco-demic... a pandemic for our economy." This is an important warning from Neil Grossman who argues inflation may consistently top 5% per year over the next decade. How can you protect yourself? Listen in as Trish and Neil talk through some strategies.
