Please improve sound quality!
I am very interested in listening to these podcasts but the sound quality makes it very difficult, especially if you’re trying to listen in the car. My son has done his podcast from different locations (including a public campground) with a simple handheld device that sounds so much better and clearer that what you’re producing so I know it’s possible. Your’s really sounds like a echoing recording from a bathroom. PLEASE look into improving the sound...it seems like several other people have had the same concern

Good Info, Bad Sound
As an educator, I love hearing about how trauma can affect the brain and learning. It’s so important, especially in our schools! However, I have a very difficult time listening to this for a whole episode because the host always seems to be yelling into his microphone. Sometimes so much so, I get a headache. If you could fix that, I would gladly come back and listen again, but until then, unsubscribing.

Couldn’t Get With The Voice
I kept forgetting this was about trauma. I really tried to give this a go but it felt like some political or sports oriented podcast. I’m sure he means well but no thank you. As a clinician open to all-things-trauma, there’s no way I’d ever list this podcast for clients to refer to. Please reconsider approach.

Your voices don’t sound safe!
As a mental health clinician with trauma, I really want to listen to this podcast, I really do. But every time I try to listen, I can feel my sympathetic nervous system getting activated and I turn it off after a few minutes, if I can last even that long. My recommendations: 1) invest in better sound equipment to soften the voice qualities of everyone involved and 2) Matt (who’s voice is most triggering) takes some voice lessons. If you think I am being over-reactive, check out the work of Dr. Stephen Porges, who has a ton to say about voice quality (prosody) in creating a feeling of safety. Matt, your voice is loud, pressured, and has a tight, forced quality to it. It feels like you’re yelling while you’re talking about healing trauma. It’s completely wrong. I’m not trying to be critical, just helpful. Please—get some voice lessons!!

Great podcast!
Very interesting podcast...great topics and knowledgeable presenters. Is there any way to cut down on the background and “loudness” when recording? It distracts from your great information. Thanks!

Excited
Had the pleasure of hearing Matt Bennett speak about the impact of trauma and secondary trauma, giving service providers the opportunity to rethink practice to benefit the client experience! I am excited to learn more from the podcast and keep trauma-informed care in the forefront of services I provide.
