Wasted potential
I was SO excited when I heard about this podcast’s concept but it’s plagued by crosstalk, poor production, shallow insights, is rambling and often off point. Dark humor is great - but the hosts just aren’t funny or engaging.

It’s a yes from me dawg
Mademoiselles, it has been nothing less than a delight to listen to your show and observe how you have grown as podcasters as well as the development in how you have come to the conversation and how the quality of conversation has developed. It’s so nice listening to individuals that challenge perception and express vulnerability in thought process/opinions. That’s the beauty of this all, right? Genuine conversation between people. Communication is truly nothing without comprehension and every episode you two come prepared to listen and learn from each other as well as the individual sharing their store versus just listening to respond. It’s a beautiful thing. Keep up the good work 🥰

Offensively bad
This podcast is actually offensive. The hosts are so sheltered and uneducated it’s actually stressful to listen to.

Love having Ellen and T in my ear!!
Great discussions that bring laughter, joy, introspection and deep emotion. I feel grateful to have the opportunity to revisit episodes, learn more, think more and to see a bit behind the TIAH curtain. More, please!

Very cool
I am excited to wake up on Wednesday mornings to hear what Elly and T have to say about TIAH. They always have interesting convos that make help me to process and better understand crazy things that can actually happen to people. I love how they are just talking, without an agenda, putting their thoughts out there. When it comes to trauma, it’s comforting just to hear regular people talking about it.

Love Trauma Bonded!
Elly and T are THE BEST! After I listen to a This is Actually Happening episode, I always want to talk with someone about it, and Trauma Bonded feels like I’m talking with friends. Thanks guys!

Love ALL of this
It’s nice to listen to you both recap on on the traumatic experiences that are told each week for a couple reasons.
1. Sometimes I’m like woah, please, to process, I need someone to verbally say something I am thinking/feeling so I’m not thinking I’m a horrible person for these random thoughts that are coming into my mind.
2. I LOVE that you both do not always agree on certain topics, but can respect that and laugh together and move on. I applaud you as not many adults can do this on such serious topics.
3. Listening to This is actually happening, which I honestly I love but, leaves me in a state of deep contemplation, which usually heads me down rabbit holes of what if. (Don’t let me make this sound like it’s all negative, I think hearing these stories are important for the person telling their story and the ones hearing them) Followed by listening to Trauma Bonded, which lifts my spirits and allows me to feel more at peace for what I was thinking as one or both of you 9/10 time say it!
Love it all!

The Anti-Podcast
“Wow! A podcast with hosts who thoughtfully discuss some of the most interesting stories from an extremely beloved show”

I like them
The “Ooooof” review makes me laugh. I like these ladies. I actually like the non-rehearsed sounding in the moment nature of the convo. Elly does need a pop screen for her mic tho.

Great Concept
This podcast is a great concept, and I love the discussion that comes from it. The only thing I would add is that I think there needs to be some adjustment to the flow. The discussion seems to jump around a lot.

No Thanks
First episode and the name calling begins”Christians, fascists, Republicans” I’m not interested in divisiveness, prefer good conversation and story telling. Thanks but no thanks.

Boring and insufferable with no continuity
I care about this topic. I think the idea of this show is great but it was developed by people who are not good at talking. It’s like following a conversation of people who are on adderall but slowed down to .25% so it’s physical torture to endure. My sister is listening to it too and added this: Also their insights are neither bold nor thought provoking. Boring!

I like this show!
The hosts are funny & make me laugh, whereas TIAH is super dark and depressing. I really like both and I can tell the hosts are reading feedback and improving their show. I need a debrief after the TIAH pods and this is it. I wish I was friends with their ladies. Great idea.

Unfortunately reduces TIAH to another true crime podcast
What I find refreshing about TIAH is that it is a first person perspective of one’s life- that they voluntarily show and display. this show seems more voyeristic and makes the stories entertainment instead of vulnerability. TIAH doesn’t need commentary- hopefully people have their own ability to critically think about what they are listening to instead of being spoon fed information.

This has potential but falls flat
A deep dive into some of these episodes is a great idea but sadly this is missing the mark. The hosts don’t have much chemistry and seem only slightly interested in the subject. The episode about the college student/celebrity crush seemed like a slam dunk review opportunity, but there wasn’t even a genuine attempt at research. The guest states Glee was at it’s height in popularity and he did not have a smart phone at the time of the catfishing. He also noted catfish wasn’t too popular yet. It logically follows that all of this happened before 2012 when glee was airing and having a smart phone wasn’t a given. That’s just simple logic where there should have been SOME research and they really dig into a timeline that doesn’t make sense. Two stars because there is room for improvement.

Needs organizing and better audio quality
The concept of this is great, the execution needs work. Podcasts need to be more than a stream of consciousness spoken out loud. More than focusing WHO was the Celebrity Crush, there were so many cultish and psychological behaviors displayed in that story that deserved a deeper dive.

Horrible
Who in the world thought these 2 talking would be cute? One of them tries sounding like she’s a 5 year old. I hate it when women think it’s cute to sound stupid

Meandering and Unfocused
I was psyched to learn of this companion podcast because I so often want to hear other folks thoughts about TIAH podcasts, and need to digest and decompress with others. Unfortunately TB is a disappointment in this respect. The hosts don’t organize their thoughts, don’t hit on crucial points of the underlying episodes, have nothing interesting to say, and their comments seem uninformed.

Needs work
I like the idea of this podcast because it explains the trauma of This Is Actually Happening. The podcasters voices clash together and sound dragged out. Maybe adding another person would help. It’s hard to follow with long pauses and scattered thoughts.
awesome brooos
Needs more editing
The conversations are painfully slow and this pod needs some serious editing. Loses my attention due to how slow the hosts work through things
The Red Fantastic
Not inciteful
I’m surprised one of the hosts has a prominent position on TIAH. To answer a question playfully discussed on a recent episode: Yes, lesbians can be emotionally abusive. They’re human. The fact that I share an identity as listeners to TIAH along with these two hosts is giving me the ick for myself and the podcast. What are we even doing here?

So fun to breakdown the episode together
Great companion podcast, I really enjoyed the first episode (I listened to The Safe Arms of Fabio) and appreciated Elly and Therese’s takes and vulnerability. Looking forward to hearing more :)
