Hey! My name is Oscar Meza. I’m an aspiring Intraday Trader in the Futures market, mainly focused on ES so expect a lot of ES content! I have over 2 years of experience in the market and I feel like I’m barely getting the hang of it. I plan on sharing my studies, playbooks, experiences, etc. because I wish I had someone to guide me when starting out!
Value established higher!
Discuss overall market structure referencing previous week & possible future scenarios. We traded and established value higher than previous week. This is a good sign that we have interest in going higher. We closed in weekly value so we may see some rotation action on Monday, since we are in value we can see where the market really wants to go referencing the PVAH & PVAL which are 4540 and 4460. We attempt to transact in the low volume area in 4440s and it got bought up instantly showing great defense from the buyers. 4680 is the BTF fair value so I believe we head there as long as 4540 get broken through, if 4460 gets broken down then I believe we head to 4380. Other than those two scenarios I believe we rotate those levels. Discuss playbooks and anything learned throughout the week I want to stop trading after the first 30 minutes of the market. things get slow after that and transactions start to thicken which leads to misunderstandings. I had a bad week, some key points were confusing and led to repeated losses, I really want to narrow down my losses and prevent receiving them a lot that's why I’m cutting my trading window. I saw some aggressive action as well that kept getting revisited as well this shows responsive action on the big time frame and shows sign of a reversal.

Established some value! Looking forward to the 4500 area!
Discuss overall market structure referencing previous week & Scenarios for next week. We dropped lower and rotated throughout the week establishing value. We created some value on the upper range but failed to hold. When price traveled to the lower range it got bought up instantly, however, the higher end of the value kept getting tapped frequently. This week showed interest on the higher end of value, this can give us an idea of what we can expect for next week. With a close outside of value on the highs I believe we can join the value above 4500 again. I believe approaching 4480-4500 is completely possible, I want to observe the price in that area to see if we can either break it or reject it. Discuss anything throughout the week this week I realized how well I perform on initiative trades rather than responsive trades. I was long at lows on Friday and I got a few points in the green but ended up coming back to lows and ticked lower making me stop out. It ended up being a fish out and came back up to my profit target. A friend of mine gave me some advice to juice one contract and close one of them to leave me some room to lower my stop instead of leaving the stop at lows where its known to fish out participants at lows on responsive days. Reason being is because I have noticed this is something common that happens on responsive days, and with responsive days affecting my performance this can help me out on cutting down on losses. Another thing that I want to work on is to stop trading by 8:30, from a maximum loss drawdown, and keeping to a maximum of 3 trades a day.

Price Discovery Mode!
Discuss overall market structure referencing previous week. We rotated towards the lower end of value and pushed even lower, I was planning on seeing a bounce at the 4500 area but buyers aren't present. In theory, we need to find an agreement on price because we are in price discovery mode. Discuss playbooks and anything learned throughout the week When there is a oddly developed profile to the point of where you can’t identify imbalances then its good to call it a day, it takes discipline to make that decision. Its hard to not trade but it began to not be hard for me when I understood staying cash is a position itself. After a failed attempt to breakout of value, look forward into playing the rotation instead of having a bias to reattempt the breakout, a lot of capital can be saved if you focused on the facts rather than the beliefs of price. After 2 days of data on the weekly profile, the weekly volume profile is very strong. Understanding where we are at on a weekly profile can guide us into a much stronger approach into our thesis for the day. Discuss scenarios for next week. I expect value rotation under 4480, lack of agreement on price so we may develop in this area for the week. Above 4480 I am bullish and theoretically can push us to 4680

How to spot breakouts using Footprint.
Lets talk markets!  Discuss overall market structure referencing previous week. -tried to continue lower from previous week but it got bought up pretty quickly back into value on the big time frame. the lower end of value on this big time frame is 4500, im curious if we can travel there. in theory it is possible, if we travel there expect for quick bounces. 4680 is still the popular price so expect price to be hanging out there for a while until we go to a different value. Discuss playbooks and anything learned throughout the week -Focused on how initiative action happens, in breaks and in value shifts. We want to see continuous stop orders coming in the footprint in breaks or in value shifts (shown in playbook 01/13/2022). if we break out without seeing initiative then it will most like result in a failed break. -Low Volume Areas. Low volume areas should be areas where price reject since they are unpopular prices. When price trades too much in LVA’s its a sign of either breaking out of that value or if trading too long then it becoming a part of the value. In playbook 01/14/2022 you see where I adjust my trade entry because the LVA fills as part of the value. Discuss scenarios for next week. I expect to see more rotations in this area since we are right at POC in the big time frame. the lower end of this big time frame value is at 4500 so in theory we can travel here and if we do we’ll focus on longs. looking for longs above 4760, under 4750 we are looking for shorts. We are tapping lower end of this big time frame so 4500 may be on the way.
