This podcast is fantastic. A true gem. I didn’t know there were others out there that love Bart as much as I do. Peter and Heather seem like people I would be friends with in real life. Love listening to this pod for a feel good happy. Their knowledge of SF past and present is incredible and I am here for it.

I moved here mid-pandemic and this show has helped me discover my new city - it’s like listening to friends tell you the hidden secrets that only the locals know! Love it.

Heather Knight and Peter Hartlaub of the SF Chronicle are a treasure of the cities media landscape. They find the personalities that make the city tick and make them talk. Along the way they have wacky adventures and uncover hidden gems that otherwise might go under the radar. They’ve had me on the podcast as a guest several times, for instance. Five Stars.

This podcast brings me joy!!! Even though I’m in Chicago, my heart is in SF. Total SF is the next best thing to being home in the Bay Area. There is no replacing Herb Caen, but Heather Knight and Peter Hartlaub are ambassadors for the new millennium. Is it wrong that I want them to be my friends?

Peter and Heather are experts on where to go and what to see from the soles of your feet: experiencing a city as it should be. Observing life, people, parks, streets NOT from a car window. They tell us why we should care enough to support restaurants, movie theaters, bars, all the local places that make a place worthwhile.

I live in the mission, the best burrito is made at Taqueria Guadalajara. You no longer need to ask that question to your guests it’s been answered. Other than that, I love this show and look forward to it every week. I believe it’s an essential podcast to listen to while the city starts to open up. Good job! Even when the topic is one that I think I’m already an expert on, I learn something new and interesting. It’s like spending time with an old friend!

I'm an immigrant and newcomer in bay area. This podcast offers a lot of local, personel, historical, emotional, fact-based insights into the Bay Area particularly SF culture scene. It makes me rediscover the city and feel more connected (or connected in another way besides 'tech'). I occasionally read SF Chronicle but the newspaper is too formal a media and lacks some straightforwardness and audacity. SF is such an amazing place with so many hidden gens. Please keep the good work!
