Tony Vlahovic’s baseball career began in Italy, where he was named Rookie of The Year. When returning to the U.S., he signed with the Boston Red Sox as a left-handed pitcher. But then an auto accident changed his career trajectory. However, that did not stop Vlahovic from following his passion. He became an experienced entrepreneur in sports mental conditioning and is the chairman of the Special Olympics Baseball Development Committee. Head Coach Tony Vlahovic has managed the NHS Lions varsity baseball program for ten seasons. BAL Coach of the year in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Coach Vlahovic was also inducted into the Wilkes University Colonels Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022. Coach Vlahovic is also the Team New Jersey Special Olympics baseball manager and has lead that team to a Gold medal in the 2014 USA Games. He was nominated for Special Olympics North American Coach of the Year in 2015. As the founder of BaseAble Non-Profit, Tony currently helps bring baseball to those who may have never had the chance to play. BaseAble provides an inclusive space that all began with a clear vision by none other than coach Tony Vlahovic. Baseable's mission is to provide and encourage an inclusive environment for individuals with mental or physical disabilities to play the great game of baseball.
