Every week I get a “new” episode in my podcast app of a rerun or some CBB episode. I got tired of deleting them while I wait for a new season, so I unsubscribed. I wish they would just release new episodes when they are ready. If I wanted to listen to reruns or CBB I would, but releasing them every week like new episodes is annoying.

I love them. Consistent giggles every Thursday for years. Imagine complaining about skippable commercials for this much comedy gold. People are weird.

Imagine the pathetic existence of someone who doesn’t cackle insanely at this show.

Scott, Lauren, and Paul have the kind of unique chemistry that is the gift that keeps on giving. Each of them is a hilarious and brilliant improviser in their own right, and when they get together it's just magic. I am so grateful for the years of weekly laughs, relatable conversations about the minutiae of existence, and improv/games. This show has carried me through some difficult times in recent years, from COVID to the recent experience of navigating my senior cat's cancer and ultimately, the grief of having to say goodbye. I've gone back several times to the first episode and listened back to the present, at the expense of my other podcasts. If you like "group chat" podcasts that provide a relatable parasocial vibe, look no further. I love everything these guys do, but my favorite is Threedom. Love love love y'all!

But! Can you please stop talking about cancer. It’s a very rough and terrifying illness that involves scans, recurrence and enormous effort to put its threat out of mind for the sufferers all for you to remind them of it for whatever dumb thing. Stop.

The show ends up being about twenty minutes long if you skip the insane amount of ad time and the never once funny “Threature” section at the end. It’s amazing that these three talented improvisors haven’t once made me laugh during that part of the podcast.

What is this show? Well, Threedom is a show where three good friends talk about the trivial and banal (e.g., how many clocks they each have in their respective homes) or some gross medical issue they (e.g., Scott) have experienced until one of them invariably misspeaks, which is when the show actually starts. Once the flub has been made, the other two hosts then proceed to mock that person in highly comedic ways, sometimes breaking out into song along the way (e.g., CPAP machine). Listeners are also rewarded by cute stories about the host’s children, dinners they have attended, and television shows they do and do not watch. Also, they do play a variety of busters (for anyone that’s been sleeping under, next to, or on top of a rock). It’s pretty funny.

I listen for the three friends interrupting each other and repeating stories.

No one on planet Earth is funnier than Paul imo. But this show is hamstrung by so many ads, a cohost who hates funny things and loves putting the breaks on fun. Like EVERYONE else, I hate Scott. I can’t believe I got through this review without him interrupting me!

But really bored by their podcast.

Commercial breaks getting longer and longer

I’m not sure what this is but it has soothed my diaper rash.

I used to love this show and listen to it with vigor. Over the years their commercials have gotten longer. It’s become weirdly shameful. I feel bad unfollowing them after so long but this just takes away from my life so much and I’m so sick of adds. Contribute to the world, don’t keep removing passion and fun.

I’m laughing, they’re laughing, we’re all laughing at the same time. You’re gonna love the way they make you laugh, I guarantee it.

PFT: “… the second James Bond.” This is the stuff that makes me laugh out loud while I’m washing the dishes or driving to an appointment. As a newer listener, I feel lucky to experience the Threevisiting eps for the first time. Just want to thank y’all. It’s been a rough year for me so far, and this pod brightens my week.

It’s a true joy listening to them, and I don’t often review podcasts. These three are the best of the best at what they do, and I’ve never regretted listening to a single episode. Such authentic people and good friends that will have you howling in laughter at times in the same way that they are able to get each other (or themselves) laughing at even the mildest things. Listening to this, you start to find such easy humor in small things and there truly is no better type of humor. Again, a true joy and a privilege to be a listener. Y’all have taken over my own personal Mount Podmore and, reluctant to say, I am a piss pig

For people who live in an arid climate with no natural fresh water source… not bad if you live for encroaching ads. 16 minutes of commercials for a 55 minute show.

This podcast used to just kind of work, and I appreciated the chemistry and the ease of conversation. Now it’s a slog, weighed down by talk about toddlers (I have one, too. But I don’t want to hear their perspective about it shrug) and ads for fatphobic companies and weightloss drugs.

Ouch…

Lauren, Paul, and Scott (in alphabetical order) are the quintessential listening pleasure - from hearing the same stories over and over again to Lauren’s topics, this podcast is the most enjoyable podcast about three people talking about life (and telling the same stories over and over again).

this podcast raised my serotonin levels dramatically. I used to listen to podcasts about murders or politics and now I don’t have to! Thanks Paul, Lauren, and Scott!

I love listening to this on my little CPAP machine
