Hello and thanks for dropping by the podcast. These have been difficult days here. Forest fires not far away have put people in flight. Property is cindered. The smoke has been in the city, you could taste it inside the house, it’s awful. These are elemental days. Again, we talk of fire, water, earth and wind.

The Red Cross is accepting donations for fire relief

Here are three things that left behind tracks of happiness and gratitude this week:

1. Classics – what happened when I emailed a classics professor at Harvard.

2. Filling stations – what happened when I stopped at a Circle K in the north end.

3. Going Dutch – what happened at dinner out at OTTO

The original music in the podcast is from Edmonton composer and pianist Brendan McGrath. The end bells are courtesy of Edmonton metal artist and humanitarian, Slavo Cech, who, did you know, came up with the idea of the Christmas tree lights on the Telus building all those years ago? True story.
