Cancel Culture: How far are we willing to go to silence each other?
Today's "soup-du-jour" — cancel culture. It's wreaking havoc everywhere. It's gone past just watching play out on social media—it's happening IRL.  Even amongst my own friends and peers.    How far are we willing to go to silence opposing views simply because we don't like what's being said?  How long before you're silenced and canceled? I didn't think it could happen to but here we are....  Who's to say you're not next to be silenced and/or canceled?    --------- Watch the recorded version of this episode on YouTube I'm a marketer, too!

Identity Politics: Why do we lean politically towards our own ideologies?
Are we unconsciously subscribing to political leanings based solely on our own ideologies? If there was one way of limiting our own growth and evolution as a "progressive" society, it would be falling into the traps of identity politics. What good could possibly come from subscribing to political ideologies based solely on our own religion, sex, sexual orientation, political leanings, etc... yet, this is where our culture seems to be moving. Why? --------- Listen to the previous episode: Watch the video recording of this episode: https://youtu.be/0NF-pdS9wqQ I'm a marketer, too: http://rachelle.marketing

Deciding to live your life for you
Are we  irreparably hardwired to do the 9 to 5 grind or can there actually be an alternative way of living out our lives? That's the million dollar question that a lot of us ask ourselves.  The million and one dollar answer, in short,  is... yes, there is alternative but'll require "living on the fringe" so to speak. Once we actually take control of our lives and say no to worthless soul-sucking jobs and all of the bullshit that comes with it, the what-seems-impossible dream of doing what we want, is totally possible.   Though, like I said, the cost of living your life for you means getting comfortable with not being like every one else. Which, in my experience, is easier said than done.

My thoughts on virtue signalling and victimhood
I'm over here just trying to make sense of everything that's going on - social justice issues, mainly.  Full disclosure: I'm a gay, black woman. Though, I've never seen myself as marginalized or disparaged. Rather, it's more so been a matter of seeing myself as a human being with a host of obstacles that I've needed to get through.  My wonder though is why so many people are 1) choosing to virtue signal to show their allegiance to marginalized people and 2) choosing to see themselves as a marginalized person rather than someone whose just been plopped off on this earth with obstacles to get through in order to reach their end goal, which for most of us is simply to be happy? ----------- For the video version, check out my YouTube channel I'm a marketer, too: http://rachelle.marketing/

Psychosis or Spiritual Awakening?
For a lot of people, recognizing a so-called spiritual awakening can be confusing. You might wonder if you're straight up crazy or just getting more connected with yourself.   COVID shook people to their core, leaving many in a place of unsolicited solitude.    For me, there were high's and low's.  The low's felt like psychosis with thoughts of suicide, deep bouts of depression, anxiety and a feeling of impending loneliness. But, then things changed... ----- For the video recorded version of this podcast, check out my YouTube channel I'm a marketer, too!

Exploring white privilege
I'm a thinker. An over-thinker, really.  After my first recording about 'spiritual beings and the human experience', I had some time to sit and think about some of the things I'd said and how they might have been perceived. Particularly about white privilege.  Look, I'm not perfect. If anything, I'm just another mouth piece with a mic and far too much time on her hands. Nevertheless, not even my own thoughts and opinions are free of reflection and exploration.  In this episode, I dig deeper into the concept of spiritual beings and the human experience and how I feel about the whole thing.  ------  For the video recording of this episode, check out my YouTube channel. Are we just spiritual beings having a human experience?
French philosopher, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, once said "we are spiritual beings having a human experience".  But what does that really mean?  Quite honestly, I'm not totally sure. Nevertheless, it's an interesting concept to explore particularly at a time when so many people are taking to social media of all places to pledge our loyalties to fellow meat bodies.  Whatever your beliefs, there are question even the world's most intelligent scientists, intellectuals and academics can't answer. Questions surrounding who we are, what our purpose is and why the hell are we here?  In my opinion, it's not to take to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to pledge our allegiance to these mortal vehicles we've been given.  Maybe now's as best a time as any to explore an "alternative" way of thinking. Maybe we're just spiritual beings living out a human experience that we're way too caught up in.  ------  For the video recording of this podcast, check out my YouTube channel I'm a marketer, too!
