thinklife with kalaboukis - being a better human
kalaboukis
a podcast on being a better human On THINK!LIFE, being a better human, we’ll discuss anything and everything – including some things that cover broader topics about the future, current events, society, social media, the human condition, free speech, how to be better humans (and what it means to be a better human). I’m going to try and be totally apolitical (although I am a libertarian and you may hear some of those views from time to time, I’m extremely tired of politics getting into everything and would just prefer to politely not discuss politics at the dinner table)

21 - Use Negativity, Positively
When we get hit with negative feedback, we sometimes have this tendency to use that negativity to let ourselves off the hook. For example, if you are trying to lose weight, you get on the scale and the number is lower than last time - you feel great. But if its higher, we use that to beat ourselves up over it, and maybe even make things worse. If you use any negative feedback instead as a reminder to do better, then it loses a lot of its power. Like in craps, the same shooter keeps playing while the table is winning, but as soon as they roll a losing roll, move on to the next shooter.
