Thinking Matters
Joseph Hwang
Joseph brings a unique perspective as an Korean-American missionary kid (MK). Currently undertaking his graduate school in Masters of Public Health (MPH), he faces challenges that many students, especially those of faith, also struggle with. Journal-ing daily isn't enough to satisfy the day-to-day reflections, thoughts, and concerns of his heart. Join Joseph as he shares his life, the life of others, and attempts to bring the Gospel-light to every thought. "take every thought captive to obey Christ," 2 Corin. 10:5 ESV S1- KA Church July-August 2020 S2- PK MK (TBA) S3- Graduate School (TBA)

(S1E3) Church Divorce
Thinking Matters Podcast Season 1 Episode 3: Church Divorce  Main idea: What if you are not considering leaving your church, but your church decides to leave you? Church divorce or church splitting has similar effects as any relational divorce does. Although reasons vary from Pastoral sins to church gossiping and even a rebellion from the members... how can one deal with the repercussions? The key is to pray, discuss/meet, and be gracious. Leaders need to remember their Chief Shepherd and others need to realize how detrimental it can me. However, it is not about maintaining a victim mentality, but trusting in the One who paid for the Church by His own blood. Trust in Him, He will use even the worst of the worst for our good and His glory. Just thoughts.

(S1E2) Why You Want to Leave the Korean American Church
Thinking Matters Podcast Season 1 Episode 2: Why You Want to Leave the KA Church Main idea: Although most people appear to be attributing to leaving the church for relational issue (while maybe blaming the theology), most people don't actually have a good grasp of the core issue- a gospel issue. If the gospel, the true gospel, is absent from your church, please consider leaving that church. If your church is "grey" area, please go see a trusted brother, sister, or leader to start discussing, praying, and seeking discernment regarding where God is placing you. Church is not a place you GO, church is where you BELONG to a faithful body of Christ.
