Adhd support
This podcast is perfect for the ADHD brain in traffic. It helps me feel grounded and meditative rather than upset or lingering on details of the day.

Passenger the bus metaphor- incredible helpful!
Emma! Thank you for your work. I have been looking for this for years. Now I have actions to take when the ANTs are trying to drive the bus. This episode was immensely helpful and I’m excited to listen to more. Your friendly tone and simple examples are just what I needed today.

distracting noise on episodes
The content looks great. The background noises in the episode I want to listen to as a trial make it actually impossible to listen to this podcast or take in any of the information. (ACT episode). They are very distracting, startling, and confusing and make it so that you’re paying attention to the background noise and not the actual podcast. Otherwise, looks great.

Not a fan of her guests
I appreciate much of what Emma has to say and have benefited from learning about CBT and other techniques to take our thoughts captive. However, most of her guests make me understand why some people are leery of therapists and counseling. One of her guest speakers was a proponent of going “no contact “ with family and I was extremely disappointed for Emma to sympathize and even suggest that this is a healthy way to deal with family conflict. There should be so very few cases when going “no contact” should happen, not disagreements over parenting. “No contact” is a cult tactic that scars all individuals and relationships struggle to heal for years if and when reconciliation is possible.
Emma is fantastic; at least I appreciate what she puts out on a regular basis. I’d like her better if she would challenge what some of her guests say, but I assume, sadly, she must agree with them.

Day better
Made my day better learning about avoidance issues. Really found this helpful and truly appreciate this therapists work. Would love if the episodes dumbed down how our brains work and there were recaps after the narrator explains it all: like a recap of 1-3 reasons we avoid and 1-3 examples of what to do today to fix it.

Sincere and relevant
Emma talks to us as if she has known us personally. She emotes sincerity and conviction yet pushes no judgment. I am fortunate to have her wisdom available through a podcast. I just wish there were more as skilled and capable as Emma in prac.

Short and sweet
I love love love how short and straight to the point the episodes are. I’m very impatient and don’t like a long build up. I want the facts and what to do ASAP. Felt very personable and positive. Gained a follow!

Loved the Executive Functioning Ep.
Definitely something I deal with! I’m 32 & have always dealt with this & im just realizing “if I make a system for everything, it’ll work” but it takes so much time & the way you made it so simple was amazing. Thank you! More of that please 🙏🏻

Wonderful Mental Health Resource
I am new to the therapy-sphere and was looking for free resources while I learned what kind of therapy might suit my needs related to anxiety. Emma’s straight forward, no-nonsense, kind and empathetic approach to therapy techniques has been life changing. Learning about negativity bias, avoidance and CBT (to name a few!) has made a huge difference in my mental health. I no longer feel alone in my experiences and I’m no longer scared of these sometimes overwhelming feelings. Quite literally, Emma has taught me how to get better at feeling and I’m so grateful. Also grateful that a lot of the material is free, but there’s an option to purchase courses if I want to go more in depth on any subject. Keep on keeping on, Emma, and thank you so very much!

abuse
I wish I could be more articulate, but I don’t have language yet. I cannot believe how long it took me to catch that this practitioner was using their role as a therapist, and contact with people seeking therapy content, to promote their religious beliefs. The proselytizing is on every episode page, linking to LDS content about believing in Christ, etc. I should have heeded the red flag that they are choosing to continue promoting BetterHelp after they were exposed. If someone wants to use the privilege of this role to influence others with regions content, that should be overt, clear and not buried. It’s incredible that more people aren’t alarmed by this.

I am so thrilled that I stumbled across Emma’s podcast! I am a mental health therapist and I find these podcasts an amazing supplement, not only to enhance my client’s work outside of the office, but give me new ways to discuss difficult topics in new and easily understood way. Better than therapy for me
A friend recommended these YouTube videos, and as soon as I watched one, I binged on the others and found the podcast. I've tried therapy for my anxiety, and just haven't found anyone that was practically able to help me. This therapist is practical and so good at explaining things.

Worst I ever heard
Not mentioning this is common side effects of anxiety disorders. This is why doctors should only be on podcasts about mental health.

Love the content but…..ICK to BetterHelp!
As a seasoned mental health therapist, I find the continent to be spot on, and very easy to digest. However, I was dismayed and disheartened when I heard an ad with BetterHelp as the sponsor. With everything that has come to light about their business practices (ie- selling client data), and how they treat and pay their therapists, I really hope that the show host and team will reconsider their partnership with betterhelp.

Love this podcast!
Emma does a fantastic job. I’m a very social person, but I’ve always struggled with overthinking and social anxiety. I self-coped all the way through high school, until the first time I listened to this podcast Emma was spot on. She perfectly described things I didn’t notice I already do to help myself, and explained more of what I can do to live in the moment and enjoy this one life I have. Thank you, this is the perfect Therapy in a Nutshell!

A must listen!
I’ve listened to more episodes than I can count. I always send them to my family and friends. It’s quick and so informative. One of my favorite episodes is guess culture vs ask culture. It literally changed how I react to people! So helpful!

Emma is a Teacher of Crucial Life and Mental Skills.
What I've noticed is that Emma is direct & to the point, titles her episodes accurately, gives several real life examples of mental health strategies per episode, and maybe most importantly, she has a calm and comforting style of communication. You can almost see her smile as you listen. I only wish I would've come across her podcast in 2019, so that I could have the tools I needed to process and overcome anxiety.
Thank you, Emma. At times, I wish you were my go-to personal Therapist, but this podcast will have to do.
God bless your adventure as you help others learn how their minds and bodies were created to work in harmony for growth, health and community.

Value packed episodes!
Emma is down to earth and provides relatable examples. I liked the episode about self-limiting beliefs and that even positive labels we put on ourselves may be harmful. Especially if we rely on it for self-confidence. Thank you for your insights!
