Love. It's a word we use so much today-yet I really believe it has lost its true meaning. As Lecrae wisely put it: "Love is more than a word, it's a noun AND a verb". Love today can seem so coniditonal. We love pizza, we love that one song, we love someone or something...then there's that movie "love and basketball"--we think we really know what love is--then we look at what Jesus did for us. These 'loves' we have can all be conditional, yet His love is unconditional. He loves us no matter what we could ever do; in fact He loves us so much that "He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life"-John 3:16. In this episode, I look at what people think about love today and want to shed light on that through what it says in God's Word. His Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path-it's the only way I know how to take something as deep as this and find out how to truly live and...love.
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."-1 Corinthians 13:13
It's something to get HYPE about!

In this episode, I have a guest--one of my good friend's Nick--we tackle this huge topic, this elephant in the room of relationships. It seems as if a majority of our conversations surround relationships , whether good or bad aspects of them, and it consumes our lives. I get in to how our view on sex and relationships in general is influenced by the media and what we can do in our own lives to make sure we're on guard and focusing our eyes on Jesus.

In my first episode, I showcase a lot of artist needtobreathe, a band I first heard about when I attended their 'Reckoning' concert. They have such a rich sound to them and represent a good message.
There is also a track from Trip Lee's new album, 'The Good Life'. He raps about a passage in Philippians. This certain Hip Hop that raps about things that actually matter in life has really grown on me. To me, that's true music, true Hip Hop.
Follow them @needtobreathe and @triplee116.Follow me @charlielapThe passage off of my talk (Luke 17:26-33):26 “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.28 “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.30 “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32 Remember Lot’s wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.
If and when we realize we our completely corrupt people in need of a Savior--once we surrender ourselves, our entire lives to Jesus and live for Him--not just out of religion but because He loved us that God gave His one and only Son to die for us--then we will in doing so preserve our lives and not lose them...If we are self-focused, we will be disappointed, but if we are Christ-focused, it will bring pure joy.
