Pieter Lalleman is tutor in Biblical Studies at Spurgeon's College and is a published author. He specialises in the New Testament and has authored books on Acts and Revelation. We start this episode with a response to the murder of George Floyd in the US, considering what Paul would have to say about issues of racism in the UK, including the church. Then we explore Romans 2:1-16, themes of judgment and repentance and follow Paul's complex argument regarding the law and judgment as they relate to Jews and Gentiles.

Part 2 of our interview with Phil Fellows. In Part 1 Phil helped us understand how to read Paul better and challenging passages of scripture as we sought to understand the wrath of God and why it is an important Biblical concept. In this episode we examine verses 26 and 27 and seek to understand what faithful sexuality looks like from a Biblical perspective. It is worth noting that sexuality is not the focus of Romans 1, but it is used by Paul as an example of how humanity has fallen short of the glory of God alongside many other aspects of our lives. Philip Fellows tells us about his story: how God called him out of his previous role as a barrister into Baptist ministry. He applies his legal understanding of arguments to Paul's writing and gives advice on reading Paul and reading challenging passages in Paul's epistles. Phil gives us a roadmap for understanding Romans and the passage in question before exploring the theme of God's wrath and judgment.
