A fitting 13th episode of The Wild Bites Back on Halloween! In this episode, I update you on many of the wilderness experiences we've been fortunate enough to have during our most recent hiatus.  From fly fishing in the Adirondacks, to bow hunting the backwoods of Washington County, this is what's happening in Upstate New York!Oh, and I also call my shot and predict, almost perfectly, how my last day of fall turkey season would go down.  And it's also why I now hate turkeys, at least until next spring...

In this installment of The Wild Bites Back, I break down the powerful and disturbing Netflix documentary "Seaspiracy", which monumentally exposes the giant fraud that is "sustainably caught" seafood. With the help of this film, I take a critical look at the commercial fishing  industry and the devastating effects it's having not only on marine life, but on several ecosystems and economies all over the world.  From illegal whale and dolphin hunts, to rampant slavery and other human rights abuses, this episode will make you think twice about popping open that can of tuna, regardless of what the label says. 

In this episode, we get into the infamous Wisconsin tree stand murders carried out by disgruntled hunter, Chai Vang, who shot and killed six people after mistakenly trespassing onto private property and climbing up the wrong tree.We also talk about some of the craziest hunting accidents from the 2020 season, as well as a couple from seasons past. Whether it's someone impaling themselves on their own hunting rifle, or just Dick Cheney shooting a guy in the face, remember...Safety First...So let's all learn from other people's mistakes.Finally, we round everything out with a little bit about sharks, recent predator attacks on defenseless puppies, and the very real possibility of orcas plotting their revenge against the human race.

After a long hiatus, The Wild Bites Back podcast is back in action.  We're taking it a different route this time though and diving into some of our own outdoor adventures, regardless of how big or small.  And with hunting season in full swing in Upstate New York, that's a perfect place to start this reboot.
