3. Why and How We're Talking About Privileges and WIND
We have to talk about the privileges in our virtual WIND office, in the room(s) at WIND events, and within weight-inclusive spaces at large. What does it mean that many of us in this space hold so many unearned privileges (body, race, ability, etc.), and how do we act with intention and integrity once we know what those privilges mean?  Tune in to hear Heather Caplan, Kim Hoban, and Leah Tsui—of the WIND Team—explore this topic together, sharing what they've learned over the years of working within inclusive spaces and being faced with the power their identities hold.  This relatively short episode is just scratching the surface of this conversation, and we'll come back to it again and again, no doubt.  Thanks for being here for every body with us! Full transcript and show notes are available on weightinclusivenutrition.com.  WIND on Instagram: @weightinclusivenutrition WIND's Facebook Group, free and open to all providers, students, and interns.  WIND Professional Membership, for weight-inclusive providers.

1. Social Media Shenanigans & WIND Values
Hi, we're back! And in this short re-introduction episode, Heather Caplan gives an update on some social media shenanigans, why they matter and what we had to say about it. While the risks of doom-scrolling are high, we aren't immune to them any more than the next person. That being said, our two highest WIND values are Inclusivity and Integrity, so let there be no question or hesitation at all about where we stand on oppressive rhetoric and actions.  Get in touch any time by sending us an email: weightinclusivenutrition at gmail dot com.  WIND: weightinclusivenutrition.com

Why Weight-Inclusive Care? Because I have to...
What you’re about to hear is a collection of audio clips from the Foundations of weight-Inclusive care WIND Workshop that I’m co-hosting with Brianna Campos, of Body Image With Bri, THIS WEEK. Yep, these quotes are directly from our live sessions, with consent to share from our speakers. They each answered, in some way, the question of WHY they practice from a weight-inclusive lens. Why weight-inclusive care? Why weight-inclusive activism? Why challenge the “norm” of weight-centric healthcare practices that are touted as the only evidence-based practices? These sessions are still available, and if it were me, honestly…. I’d metaphorically run, not walk, to register for this workshop. Don’t hurt yourself. It’s a link…you just have to go click on it --> weightinclusivenutrition.teachable.com You’re about to hear from Aaron Flores, Dori Steinberg, Veronica Garnett, Samantha Barash, Mimi Cole, Ragen Chastain, and Amy Rapone…with a little bonus anti-racism clip from Shelby Gordon. (More information about the full workshop: weightinclusivenutrition.com/workshop) We feel so lucky to be in these spaces with them, and with you. Let’s go.  Follow along: @weightinclusivenutrition on IG | weightinclusivenutrition.com
