I am Liam Kelly—owner and editor of The Weekly Input. I am writing this bio in an attempt to give you some background on this podcast and myself. The Weekly Input is a podcast centered around three main areas of study: politics, economics, and big questions/events affecting the world. I feel it is my duty to hold those who represent the American people accountable, and to offer honest feedback on world events. Modern America is a polarized place, not because we hate each other, but because we focus on our disagreements rather than rallying around what we share in common. In modern America, political strategies have been devised to isolate individuals as group identities. Elections have become a mudslinging contest between conservatives and liberals instead of a conversation between Americans on how to best solve the issues we’re facing. Liberals and conservatives have done away with civilized discourse and instead turned the political stage into a virtue contest. Whether it is abortion, healthcare, education, or gun control both sides have recently adopted stances on issues that grant them the moral high ground, while simultaneously labeling those who disagree with them as evil and cold-hearted. That is not the basis of discussion, and my goal is to expose these tactics and bring further awareness to the American people. It is my hope that one day Americans will call on their representatives to truly represent them and their beliefs. I have created this podcast in hopes of a great discussion between people of intelligence and civility. I hope you will enjoy The Weekly Input!
