Money, money, money.
The thing so many of us have so many different stories about.
Some people believe they never have enough. Some people believe that they have everything they need with the money they have. Some people believe money is bad and people with a lot of money are not good people.
We’re told all of our life about the “right” way to handle money. Budget, invest, save.
I talk about my experience with those things but most importantly I talk about how as a society were constantly chasing for this certain amount of money we think will give us what we want and ease our suffering.
The truth is, money is a neutral tool. And if we ever achieve the amount we’re looking for, we just start chasing after more, afraid that we’re going to lose it or that we want to support a different lifestyle.
It’s absolutely normal and it’s because most of us have a scarcity mindset around money because we feel like we don’t have enough.
But what if you just started to realize how you already have enough of what you need at this exact moment? That doesn’t mean you don’t get to create more money because having money can be a great tool for you. But you’ll start enjoying where you’re at any given moment with the money you have.
Because if you try to create money from a lacking place, such as scarcity (“I don’t have enough”) it’s like multiplying ANYTHING by zero. You always get zero. I learned this analogy from Serena Hicks, who is a rockstar in my eyes.

If you constantly feel like you just aren't doing enough at work, are afraid to say no to things, feel inadequate, and an imposter, then this episode is for you.
Imposter syndrome is something so many of us early career educators struggle with. For me, I always thought I was the only one who struggled with it and believed that I was on my own little island. The good news is, we are not alone. So many of us are suffering from it.
We listen to so many different webinars on it but still leave feeling like an imposter. So today I break it down for you in the most logical steps on what it is and how to overcome it.
In today's episode, you will learn
-What imposter syndrome is
-Common symptoms of it
-How we like to overcome imposter syndrome and why that doesn't work
-The easiest ways to overcome imposter syndrome
And as always, I show up as a perfectly imperfect human on the episode and share all the deets about my vulnerabilities :)
I learned the most I ever learned about Imposter Syndrome from Kara Lowenetheil's podcast, Unf*ck Your Brain linked here if you want to check it out.

Deep breaths, y’all. We can talk about this.
The most important thing before we do, is to check in with your bodies.
When you read the words white supremacy and racism, what does your body do? Does it get tense or constrict? Because if it does, that is totally normally. You’re not bad or wrong, your body is responding to centuries of trauma.
We’re going to talk a lot about white supremacy and Racism in this episode. I will be talking mostly from the amazing book I read called “My Grandmothers Hands” by Resmaa Menakem.
When I listened back to this episode, I noticed that I apologized so many times because I was so afraid I was saying the wrong thing or would potentially offend someone.
I really wanted to re-record to take out my apologies and obviously tweak some things to make me look better but I think it’s important for you all to see where I’m at currently and not hide behind perfectionism especially when it comes to this topic.
In my opinion, perfectionism needs to die in all of us in order to heal white supremacy and racism in this country. Plus, when I post episodes like this it gives me no other option but to process the anxiety and guilt that comes up and take responsibility for it.
In this episode, I will talk about
-how settling our bodies from the trauma our ancestors have carried with them for centuries is the most important step when healing racism in America
-how white supremacy and racism created and stuck with us for centuries
-why policy changes and discussions alone will not fix racism
-why radical self responsibility is so important
-how race and racism is a myth with teeth and claws that built institutions such as education around it
I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Just make sure that when you pick it up you’re ready to go all in.
PS- I am giving this book away for free to two people. All you have to do is direct message me on instagram (@thevulnerableschoolpsych) or email me ([email protected]). No other requirements. If you’re in I’m in.

Hellooo. If you have been following along so far, I have vowed to you all and myself that I would make these episodes on the first take to disarm my perfectionism. I am so proud to say this was my very first take!
No re-records. That means it's a messy episode, with lots of lost words, blank space, and me singing while I find the words. But I can promise you that if you let me be imperfect and allow that FOR YOU, you will find so much value in this episode.
Today’s episode is all about Patriarchy Stress Disorder, which was coined by Dr. Valerie Rein. Find her website here. She published a book all about it. It was incredible. I talk about the book and how much my life as a woman relates to what she talks about, and how you as a woman can relate to it, as well.
We talk about my own experience of picking up this book and how at first, there was resistance to it. But I read it anyway and it changed my life.
In this episode, you will learn about
Ancestral, collective, and personal trauma as a woman related to the patriarchy
Our inner prison and prison guards and how to turn them into bodyguards so that we can finally go after what we desire in this world
How to stop “thinking” our way out of a stress cycle/trauma response and instead connect and heal our bodies
A re-power tool
If you are ready to take this work deeper or are interested in learning more, schedule a consultation call here. In this call, we will discuss something you want coaching on and then I will tell you all about my three-month package and if it is something you really want for yourself or not. But in case you didn't know this yet, you are worth this investment. Trust me.

This is a quick one.
I just wanted to talk to you all about how our anxiety is NEVER a problem. In fact, it can be our ally. It tells us things and it's the part of our body that is trying to send us signals. If we start to connect with it and allow for it we will be able to show up for so many things with our anxiety.
I share how my anxiety shows up and how I like to hide from it or make it go away.
I explain how the anxiety, or any other emotion, diagnosis, or trauma is never the problem. It is how we respond/react to it that can become a problem, especially if that response means you are not showing up FOR you.

I recorded this episode last week. I was so excited to share it with you and I thought I would wait until Wednesday or the following week to share it because I thought that was like a rule or something???
I realize that this shit is good and if I want to share it now, I will. I can. As I dive deeper into this work for myself I realize just how often I look for others to give me answers and permission for things, even though I am an adult.
Also-just letting you all know (especially for my fellow perfectionists out there) from now on anytime I have an idea for something or I get really giddy about sharing it I am just going to share it. And it will be unedited and if I somehow go against that I will tell you. I actually started doing this in the last week or so and it has been scary as hell and most of the time I want to throw up but it has brought me so much joy and excitement and has beaten the crap out of my perfectionism. Who knew living as a perfectionist could be so boring?
Ok, so now on to the details about this episode... Today, I talk about how as a society and I think especially if you are a woman or part of any marginalized group, we believe we are not enough all.the.time. But yet all this belief does is create a reality of insufficiency and reinforcement of not being enough. Its like we see it everywhere.
I see this happening so much in education right now. So much of us are so burntout and overwhelmed and don't feel like we are doing enough as educators and that the education system isn't doing enough to help us. Yet we just continue to feel more crappy about it all and do nothing to start realizing just how much we actually are doing enough of.
It feels so shitty. So today I talk about how if we can start to delete this verbiage from our brain that we can start to think of ways of we are already enough. And when we do this, instead think of how we are ALREADY doing enough. Where is it going right? Warning: once you start doing this your brain will EXPLODE with more resources, love, and connection. Its pretty amazing.
I also introduce this idea of "minimum enoughness criteria" that you can use for your personal or professional life. I have left work with more energy and fulfillment than I ever have my whole life. Even though I set a minimum requirement and my brain thought that was awful, I actually got way more done, too.
This is not the last of this. It takes a lot of work and time to undo beliefs and create new ones. If you are ready to take this work deeper for yourself, schedule a 1:1 discovery call with me here!!! I am offering 1:1 coaching packages for three months where you'll get to work with me weekly for 45 minutes and have unlimited access to me via text messaging. I am not kidding when I say this ish will change your life in ways you never imagined. And you'll have me and my jokes along the way. It'll be the best thing you never knew you needed.

I had this idea and it just felt right to start talking to you all about the manuals we have.
The past couple of days I have felt a lot of unnecessary suffering because my boyfriend wasn't following my manual. We all have manuals. And I would say that in my experience I feel the most shitty when I hang tight onto the manuals I have for other people and for myself.
In this episode, you'll learn what a manual is and how they are not helpful for us. They keep us in a cycle of blame and shame.
Once we can let of our manuals and realize how we can take responsibility for our own emotions and reality, the better we are able to create an exceptional life for ourselves. A life that we are inspired by.

Sheeeesh. When I listened to this over again I cringed, laughed, and wanted to re-record it to
make it “better” or more perfect so you will all love me more.
But that’s just one of my major stress responses to make me feel safe. I laughed at myself and even cringed a couple of times but many moments I noticed shaking my head like “oh shit this is really good.”
I started the conversion about trauma and our responses to it. As educators, I do believe that we don’t talk about our own trauma enough and how to process it better.
I even think that because of this, it may be why so many teachers are resigning because we aren’t doing enough to support our mental health and trauma.
I even think the best way to understand our student’s trauma is understanding how it shows up for us first.
In this episode, I share an AMAZING quote about trauma, what trauma responses are, and how we can train our bodies to process it in a way that gets us to safety so that we can move forward with more helpful thoughts.
My own trauma responses even popped up while doing this episode, which is a big reason why I didn’t re-record because I want to show you that it is okay for this to happen.
Our thoughts, feelings, trauma, and body responses do NOT define us. It does not make us more or less lovable or worthy.
There is so much more where this came from.
In this episode-
You will hear me showing up as 100% human. This is truly the first episode where I feel like my authentic self showed up, which is scary but also amazing.
Learn about trauma and the different responses
Learn how to process our trauma

Do you always want things to be perfect before sharing anything or showing up in the world?
I have been there and I am still working through it. I have spent HOURS on these episodes trying to make the content I create perfect for you all. But it has unfortunately kept me so stuck and continued this cycle of avoiding feeling negative emotions. It also leaves me mentally exhausted. If you engage in any kind of perfectionism in your life, it is a huge reason why you aren’t creating the life you really want.
In this episode, you will learn-
What perfectionism really is and why you are doing it
How being afraid of feeling negative emotions creates perfectionism
How perfectionism does NOT protect you from pain
My struggles with perfectionism and how I am recovering from it

In today’s episode, I reflect on the past year and celebrate the fact that I started a podcast even though I have no idea what I am doing half the time. I talk about my failures so far and how I chose a story about that failure that allows me to keep growing and learning. Most importantly, I talked about how I want future episodes to look as we move into 2022.
We discussed
-How my current beliefs are holding me back. Some of those beliefs are around money, my relationship, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. In the new year, I will be sharing how I create new beliefs and how you can, too.
-How I want to create a community of educators to feel safe, heard, valued, and loved.
-How my struggles make me the perfect person for sharing this content.
PS-I am offering free life coaching services for the month of January for educators. I have 3 spots left. The offer ends on January 2nd. Don't miss out on this AMAZING experience. You will receive weekly coaching calls, unlimited texting support, and a client folder through google drive where you will be able to see all of the notes, resources, and recordings we use for the month.
