85 - Blondie - Eat To The Beat
Welcome back to ANOTHER surprise episode! Oh man, I’ve been wanting to cover Blondie for at least a year now and I finally got around to it with their classic 1979 album, “Eat To The Beat”. Blondie was going to have an episode dedicated to them for the ill-fated “Influencer Month” where I’d connect the dots with current bands and how A LOT of bands owe a lot to them etc etc…so, that will be discussed as well as this wonderful album so, I hope you all enjoy! I explain how to navigate this site in the episode so, here’s a link to a scan of the Billboard article I discuss: https://twitter.com/vinylpodcast5/status/1424179422903652360?s=21. Here is the link to the Guardian article I mention as well: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/oct/01/debbie-harry-on-heroin-robbery-and-why-she-still-feels-lucky and finally, here’s the link to my son’s YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/user/DeadFormat225

84 - The Wonder Years - Suburbia I’ve Given You All and Now I’m Nothing
Welcome back for another “surprise” episode! This is another album I’ve been wanting to cover since starting the show I just never felt like the time was right. Well, that’s over now because here we are. I think this record is hard to discuss because Soupy’s writing is so good and relatable and depressing but also hopeful but ALSO a fucking bummer….it’s a rollercoaster of a listen but it’s a goddamn classic. I’m excited to discuss this week and hope you all are as excited to listen!

80 - LINGUA IGNOTA - CALIGULA
Oh man, yet another episode I’ve been pushing off for months! I’ll be diving into LINGUA IGNOTA’s 2019 masterpiece, “CALIGULA”. This record is just so hard to categorize but I know that it moves me emotionally and is also somewhat terrifying in the process? It’s an absolutely beautiful album though in that way, in that it definitely makes you feel *something*, whether that’s something is good or bad. Kristin Haytor is a force to be reckoned with for sure. Here is the article I mention in the show: https://www.loudersound.com/amp/features/lingua-ignotas-track-by-track-guide-to-new-album-caligula. I also pulled some information from this interview as well: https://linguaignota.net/blogs/news/posts/blissful-anguish-a-conversation-with-lingua-ignota-heaviest-of-art

79 - The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree
Hello and welcome back everybody! This week I will be discussing The Mountain Goats, “The Sunset Tree”. I just want to say up top for this one, CW/TW: abuse (physical, substance and emotional) will be discussed in this episode so, I just want you all to be aware of that. “The Sunset Tree” is a dark, depressing and at times, hard to listen to record but it’s absolutely amazing. Let’s all get through this episode together and maybe have a drink after, yeah?

78 - Hawthorne Heights - The Silence In Black and White
Hey there! Welcome back to another episode of The Vinyl Countdown. On this week’s episode, I’ll be diving into another “scene” classic, a record that meant so much to me then and still does to this day, “The Silence in Black and White” by Hawthorne Heights! 2004 was an incredible year for music but this one stood head and shoulders above everything else for me. Let’s have some fun and go down memory lane together!
