The UnReal Man
The UnReal Man
Sean Street - Ambassador of Change
For generations, we've been told that "Real Men Don't Cry". I've called my movement The UnReal Man. My aim with this movement and this podcast is to challenge the societal belief that in order to be considered a "Real" man, men need to be cold, hard, emotionless robots who just get things done. If men open up and admit to having a problem, they are often called a "baby" or simply told "don't worry about it mate - everything will be ok". They are often afraid to admit to having any problems, because it makes them somehow weak or less of a man to be struggling. This is the belief process that I believe we need to change. I think it is time that we make it ok for men to ask for help when they need it - to be allowed to feel emotions and to express those emotions without being judged less of a man.
