Her story is one that every parent has at the very least fleetingly thought of.  Losing your child.  Unthinkable, unimaginable, the "I would never survive it" thought. Through sheer will, determination, supports and ongoing self awareness our guest Carol Allen has penetrated her unbreakable spirit to be here with us. Carol @fabchickmzallen speaks candidly about the day, weeks, months and now years after losing her son at the age of 18, Keegan "Speckz" Allen to gun violence, at an all ages dance competition! I’ve known our this guest Jean for over 20 years or so, and our connection recently became more deeply rooted. Our bond has blossomed through our foundational beliefs and our desire to grow and strengthen our mind, body and soul while healing from trauma. Jean sits down to discuss with us the shocking end to her nearly 40 year relationship /marriage which yielded 3 children. Like any marriage it had its ups and downs however approximately 2 years ago the marriage finally ended. Jean was devastated, lost, angry and bitter. We talk about how what she saw, felt, experienced growing up that lead to how she showed up in this relationship and her continuous journey of healing, forgiveness and Returning to self.

We consider our guest Heather Rovet one of the most courageous souls we have ever encountered. 👸 Heather’s story first become public in an article published in Toronto Life Magazine in March 2022 entitled “The Many faces of Jason Porter”, wherein after a 3 year live in relationship, she discovered that what she thought to be her life was really his lie! 🤯 While her story is extremely salacious and provocative, it is heartbreaking as well. 💔 Listen while Heather recounts her journey with her love, the discovery of “the truth” and shared with us how her path to (ongoing) healing unfolded.

She also suffered at the hands of being wrongfully accused of a serious offence in a very public forum (to which she was innocent). Today we sit down with Grenadian born and Canadian legend Mr. Eddie Bullen.  Eddie is well recognized for his outstanding talents in the genre of contemporary jazz, flavoured with Caribbean rhythms. He has produced over 150 albums and has worked with international talents including  Melba Moore, Anslem Douglas, Byron Lee, Maestro, David Rudder, Liberty Silver, Deborah Cox and Dee Dee Bridgewater. He is also a composer and arranger for TV, Radio and Films, has a passion for nurturing youth talent and heads up his record company and publishing company  However the focus of our episode today is on Eddie’s personal journey, his loving and charming wife Joanie was diagnosed in 2014 with ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's disease and her sunset was on the February 12, 2015... The Bloom Notes practice is one of celebrating moments of joy, laughter, strength, resilience, care and compassion. While Jenn was navigating the life changing event of a divorce, she started journaling with one moment a week, which translated to fifty two moments.  Within this time, her greatest lesson from that year was that joy is ever-present, even when we can't see it or feel it. Our next guest was married for nearly 30 years in her words “to a controlling man who was mentally and verbally abusive” . She finally asked for a divorce, and when he finally left, shortly thereafter, she  was let go from her workplace  of 16 years in the middle of a pandemic. Devastated by the extreme directional changes in her life , she contemplated ending her life. Fast forward a few months with the help of a "village" and her God she was able to step into her purpose.  Take a listen and follow her journey, a story of courage and resilience.

After working for 30 years at one of the most prestigious ad agencies in the world, she was unceremoniously laid-off amidst one of the most devastating events our world has witnessed, the pandemic, coupled with the racial tensions that have also been taking centre stage in the media. She has chosen to memorialize this life changing event in writing, and she is here today to share with us a reading of a chapter in her book sharing with us her experiences of the subtle (and not so subtle) nuances of racism.
