VULNERABLE, HONEST STORIES TO INSPIRE YOU TO EMBRACE YOUR “MESS” & LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE.I’ll be honest. I didn’t always think that “speaking your truth” was empowering. For most of my life, I did what most people do (before they shift their beliefs). I let my ego dictate my decisions and how I showed up in the world. And, it wasn’t until I spoke my own vulnerable, honest truth that I was able to embrace my “messy” journey in life … and turn it into my message. This podcast was created to provide me with a platform to have REAL conversation with people that have influenced and inspired me on my journey. And, my hope is that it will provide you with an enlightened perspective to shift your own limiting beliefs to become the greatest version of yourself and live your best life. Be Grateful. Be Curious. Be Brave.

[EP15] Create Your Future By Sharpening Your Sales Sword | Jeff Swan
In this episode I’m joined by Jeff Swan, Founder of Outbound SOS, a fellow Kelowna(ite?) and someone that I felt an immediate connection to after being introduced by a mutual friend (Danielle Grant).  While Jeff is a master at “selling” and coaching others to improve their sales results, what stands out to me is that he truly leads with value first. We dug deep into the childhood experiences that have shaped his beliefs and why (in his words) he’s known EXACTLY what he’s wanted to do with this life 3 different times.  Which is to say that he’s adapted and evolved as life has thrown curve balls at him over the years.Episode Topic5:47 | Why both Jeff and I feel a sense of “community” in the Okanagan vs the “big city”7:54 | How Jeff knew exactly what he wanted to do …. 3 times … and how he evolved11:10 | Visionaries vs Integrators - what they are and how to know which one YOU are15:08 | Lessons learned in a “restoration business” that sharpened Jeff’s leadership skills20:10 | Jeff shares a story about when he knew that he couldn’t be an “employee”24:32 | Jeff speaks about how his challenging childhood shaped his drive as an entrepreneur27:16 | How to see the duality in all situations in life to move forward when “failure” happens31:59 | Why entrepreneurs get addicted to success and failure33:30 | The importance of “slowing down” to avoid burnout and receive everything you desire38:05 | Who is the ONE person/mentor that has been most influential in your life (all time)39:10 | Who is the ONE person/mentor that is the most influential in your life (right now)41:13| What is the ONE philanthropic cause that means the most to you and why?46:12 | What is the ONE thing you are most grateful for in your life right now?47:02 | What is the ONE thing that you are most curious about right now and wanting to explore more in your life?52:02 | What is the ONE thing that scares you right now that you know you must meet with bravery?53:06 | Where can people find out more about you and connect with you online?Episode Quotes“From the earliest age I knew exactly what I wanted to do. And that changed 3-4 times.  But they were all in the same area of taking everything I am good at and turning it into something that can be sold” - Jeff Swan“It was only 3 years ago I heard the terms visionary and integrator. And when I heard it a lightbulb went off where I said, holy shit I’m a visionary, I gotta stop trying to do all this other stuff” - Trevor Turnbull“I know that when I apply myself I can do anything. When I want to prospect I can book meetings.  When I want to sell I can close deals.  But, I recognized that I want to give it my all on a handful of tasks as opposed to doing a lot not that well” - Jeff Swan“I had almost $1M in my pipeline in Feb 2020. I looked at it and thought this is going to be my best month ever, my best year ever. And then boom...COVID hit.  All of my pipeline disappeared” - Jeff Swan“There’s a lot of resources, programs, courses, live events and Tony Robbins that will teach you how to goalset and manifest your future, and then shit happens.  And how you react is ultimately the indicator of how your life ends up going” - Trevor Turnbull“I just talked to a guy the other day who said - that was my million dollar mistake - and I said - oh you only have one of those?  That’s a right of passage if you are an entrepreneur!” - Trevor Turnbull“We are entrepreneurs. When shit hits the fan, you don’t go look for a job.  You figure out innovative ways to solve problems” - Trevor Turnbull“When I look back at my entire history, my entrepreneurship, my ability to just pick up and go, it really comes from the fact that I didn’t have any safety net whatsoever.

[EP14] Creating A Space For Men To Be GREAT Men | Dai & Nik
In this episode I was joined by Dai Manuel and Nik Wood.  The two of them have created an incredible space for men wanting to be GREAT men. For themselves, their families, their friends and for the world. I personally discovered this space at a time when I was searching for a community where I could show up, be seen, be heard and be accountable to becoming the greatest version of myself. We spoke about the story behind how The MENtorship World community came to be and WHY they created it.  The weekly calls that Dai & Nik created came into my life at a time when I wasn’t even sure what I was looking for, and it was exactly what I needed.  I encourage any of the men watching/listening to this episode to join us on a future call as it will provide you with the support and accountability to be the greatest version of yourself.Episode Topic7:30 | Dai talks about WHY he was inspired to create a safe space for men to be vulnerable10:50 | Nik talks about WHY he was inspired to create a safe space for men to be seen & heard19:30 | Dai addresses the topic of “vulnerability” and why it’s a strength, not a weakness23:09 | Nik speaks to why it’s so important to share without judgement or coaching29:27 | Why men are driven by “competition” and how it holds them back from growth31:05 | Why men should celebrate “being human” and aspire to be “superhuman” 39:32 | How surrounding yourself with other great men motivates you to “do the work”48:48 | Why I decided to join the weekly calls and why I keep showing up every week50:30 | How to connect with Dai & Nik and how to join a MENtorship callEpisode Quotes“There were parts of my life where I was really ego driven, very focused on my career.  And as such, those things that I always said were important to me (family, relationships, etc) weren’t a priority any longer.  I wasn’t living in integrity” - Dai Manuel“As I was maturing and doing my own inner work (coaches, psychologist, counsellors) I realized I didn’t have a lot of close male friends.  Friends that I could be open with, honest with, completely transparent with …. and not fear that I’m going to be judged” - Dai Manuel“I sometimes joke that I’m a trojan horse, I’m this giant dude so no one ever questions my manliness. But I’m really emotional.  So, it creates a space that other men can share whatever is alive and real for them” - Nik Wood“I feel we are in the process right now, especially men, where we are redefining what vulnerability is to us. And, I’m loving this conversation that is happening globally” - Dai Manuel“I think of vulnerability as being courageously authentic. We ask men to share - what’s alive and real for you - and it invites them to lean into living a wholehearted life” - Nik Wood“When people share in the group that they had a conversation with their father or mother or partner or kids to a deeper degree than they ever have before in their lives, that matters to me” - Nik Wood“These conversations are healing. One of the things that hit me in the last few weeks was that being able to share what’s alive and real for you without coaching or mentoring or feeling that you are broken - there is something to it that helps you get to that next level” - Trevor Turnbull“The point is, who are we choosing to be? Dai rolls out of bed impressive to most of the world. And, he’s still challenging himself to his tender edge” - Nik Wood“I gain a lot of motivation and inspiration from the men that I’ve been able to connect to. Sometimes it’s spoken and sometimes it’s an unspoken accountability to keep showing up and do the work” - Dai Manuel

[EP10] | Reflection On Episodes 1-9, Lessons Learned & Shifted Beliefs | Trevor Turnbull
In this episode I pause, reflect and celebrate the experience of recording and listening to the first 9 episodes of The Trevor Turnbull Show.  The inspiration for creating this podcast has evolved over time, but the foundational element has always been to have vulnerable, honest conversations that will inspire me to embrace my own “mess” and live my best life.My hope is that these interviews have been inspiring for you as well.  And, one of the key takeaways from reflecting on the first 9 episodes was a realization that podcasting is healing.  Deep I know :) I explain what I mean by this in this solo episode.  Thank you for listening to date and I look forward to sharing more inspiring stories with you in the weeks, months and years ahead!Episode Topic1:00 | Review of the first 9 episodes and what I learned in those conversations8:00 | When I realized that podcasting is healing (and what I mean by this)11:20 | The blessing that this podcast has provided to me (and hopefully you too!)13:47 | What to expect in future episodes - some amazing interviews coming up!Episode Resources[EP1] - Why I Created A Podcast (And What You Can Expect) | Trevor Turnbull[EP2] Hockey, Drugs, Failure & REHABIT (Part 1) | Mike Olaski[EP3] Hockey, Drugs, Failure & REHABIT (Part 2) | Mike Olaski[EP4] Let Your Journey To ONENESS Begin Here | Danielle Grant[EP5] - The Impact Of Vulnerability In Fatherhood, Leadership & Content Marketing | Ron Tite[EP6] The Power Of Sharing Your Truth To Unlock Unlimited Possibilities | Zion Kim[EP7] Why Every Level Up Brings The Devil Up | Dr. Nima Rahmany[EP8] How To Invent A World Of Unlimited Possibilities! | Chris Hawker[EP9] Do Givers Finish First Or Last? | Michael GrahamThe Wisdom of Trauma (Gabor Mate - Documentary)
