What could be the most vile Trash-Mex movies to watch on Mother’s Day? Well, we got two choices and both involve not so great mothers.. Ismael Rodriguez Jr takes on Psycho IV with a better version: Obsesión De Matar (1992)On a nightly talk radio show, a man nicknamed “Pepe” calls in to discuss his incestuous relationship with his mother that lead into “Matricide” & other brutal murders. The talk show host & guest are skeptical of the caller, but his dark story unfolds to something much more sinister & very personal to someone working on the show. Second feature is Esclavas Del Sadismo (1994), a film that only someone like the late & forever great director Christian Gonzalez would make! An unusual mother lets her son make dirty films in the basement of their apartment building. Sleaze all around, even amongst the law. Well of course there are Mexican slasher films, but several titles that are labeled “slashers” aren’t even really slashers at all!In the 1st of 4 part episodes of “Oye Bro ¿Es Un Slasher?”, hosts Armando & Joey slash into:Panico En El Bosque (1990)set in a national park (or Bosque De Chapultepec), a killer is terrorizing park-goers and other troubles go on in the forest as well. The unseen vagrant killer seems to be protective of children & wants to keep any kind of trouble out of the park.Bosque De Muerte (1993)a group of young adults head out for a weekend trip to the secluded forest home of “Silvia”, who hasn’t been at the home since her mother died under mysterious circumstances and is estranged from her father. Just when the trip seems to be going normal, a storm suddenly hits & someone is stalking the group and one by one they end up killed. Silvia & her childhood friend/forest ranger “El Jaguar” must try to find a way to escape the killer. And to make the executions of these 2 films even more tasteful, we invited Lance & Erica of the Unsung Horrors podcast with a pre-recording of their thoughts on the films.Watch Panico En El Bosque (1990), ripped from Armando’s VHS copy:https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/u2dgz3au0g1r989vftgg3/PanicoBosque.mp4?rlkey=rdepig8pwtiz0s4gzq4zxz9yb&st=lnj3z59c&dl=0Watch Bosque De Muerte (1993):https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/p7ox25iyvw9u4j9r2kjuh/AD002TkCMoNcg7E1VukyF2M?rlkey=pdvuauyd84a7edlfbg8pbwqli&st=my837a00&dl=0Special thanks to Lance & Erica of Unsung Horrors for their contributionhttps://www.instagram.com/unsunghorrorshttps://www.instagram.com/hexmassacrehttps://www.instagram.com/lschibiAnd another psycho on the loose named Joshua chimes in on the kills as well!Follow us:Podcast:www.instagram.com/trashmexpodcastArmando:www.instagram.com/trash_mex_Joey:www.instagram.com/cheddabrownRecorded in Chino, CA
