This is the Melbourne Cup edition of The Trainers Hut featuring Highclere Australia's Racing Manager Andrew Hawkins to discuss Great House. The Chris Waller-trained charge was able to guarantee a start in the Race thats Stops the Nation by winning the Group 3 Hotham Stakes (2500m) on Derby Day. He will aim to join Brew (2000) and Shocking (2009) as horses to do the double since the turn of the century. What a race it is shaping up to be!

Greg Childs is the special guest in The Trainers Hut for this episode as we build towards the 2021 WS Cox Plate. Greg had a wonderful association with the great mare Sunline, winning the 1999 and 2000 Cox Plates. She ran second to Northerly in 2001 and fourth to The Fighting Tiger the following year. Greg takes us through the winning years and also the irony that he was Northerly's regular rider in Melbourne also.

Tom Moore and Rob Archibald join Todd Blum inside The Trainers Hut to discuss Home Affairs, the lone three-year-old, in this weekend's $15 million TAB The Everest. Rob discussed the promising colt's chances in the richest race on turf and Tom talks us through the link between Coolmore and the race. Coolmore tasted victory in the race with Yes Yes Yes who now stands at their Hunter Valley farm. Yes Yes Yes was also a three-year-old when he won in 2019, and like Home Affairs was trained by Chris Waller and will be ridden by Glen Boss.

Mark Chittick comes inside The Trainers Hut as they prepare to back up Group 1 Flight Stakes-winning filly Never Been Kissed in the Spring Champion Stakes this Saturday, also at Group 1 level. The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained three-year-old is by Waikato Stallion Tivaci and became his first Group 1 winner at the weekend. The step up to the 2000m from the mile looks like it will suit her also. We also get an update on the Super Seth foals that have started hitting the ground this breeding season.

We go back on the Melbourne Cup Path in The Trainers Hut and speak to Spanish Mission's managing owner Barry Irwin, CEO of Team Valor Interanational. We gain some valuable insight into the preparation of Spanish Mission as we build towards the Melbourne Cup. The in-form Craig Williams has been booked to ride the Andrew Balding trained visitor and we believe Barry has met Craig before. Listen to the episode to hear more.

Black Tahitian will be the first runner to carry the Best Bloodstock red and yellow colours on Saturday at Flemington in the Listed Darley Maribyrnong Trial Stakes. Jarred also takes us through how Best Bloodstock came about and the stable he is building.

David Payne joins Todd Blum in The Trainers Hut to discuss his champ Montefilia before she lines up in the Group 1 The Metropolitan this Saturday. The pair also chat about his amazing feats when training in South Africa and some other exciting horses currently in the stable including three-year-old colt Gleneagles and another horse to follow.

An Olympic edition of The Trainers Hut as Todd Blum is joined by Shane Rose, fresh off a Silver Medal in the Equestrian Team Eventing at Tokyo 2020. Shane won Silver alongside Andrew Hoy and Kevin McNab. It was the third Olympic Games for Rose having won a Silver Medal at Beijing 2008 and a Bronze at Rio 2016. Todd speaks to Shane about the build up to the Games as well as the outstanding culture within the team.

Marc Chevalier has a lifetime of experience in the thoroughbred industry in both Hemispheres and he has taken the leap to go out and train under his own name. He has set up a base at Hawkesbury after previously playing key roles with Gary Moore and Macedon Lodge, and more previously being a key figure in the Danny O'Brien stable. Having an input in the training of stars Russian Camelot and Vow and Declare along the way. Marc joins Todd Blum in The Trainers Hut to discuss his journey to taking out his own licence.
