i am an active listener of the Townies Podcast. I listen when I'm bored, sad, happy, angry, anxious and all of the above!!! its one of the very few (and by few i mean 2) podcasts that actually relieves my stress and anxiety, which i have a lot of. listening to these beautiful and incredible stories written by extraordinary people is easily the best thing you could do for yourself. definitely put this on your "self care to-do list" and laugh or cry to your heart's content. thank u townies, for just simply existing.

This is not Praire Home Companion small town America - this is, as Kim puts it, "delightfully bent," "unapologetic" storytelling about topics both very specific and universal. There is something for everyone here. I especially enjoy the young voices - but all the storytellers are pretty fresh and sassy.

I bet every town has wonderful stories - we're just lucky to have Kim Maxwell to draw them out of folks and then do this wonderfully produced podcast. More!

Laughed and cried and all that jazz, but also totally relaxed and listened to simple stories by extraordinarily simple people in this beautiful little town I've come to love.

These stories by ordinary people, written and performed by themselves, are so wonderful-- Funny, gripping, heart-stirring. These stories create the community I want to live in-- where people talk freely about stuff that's hard to talk about and other people listen and tell stories too. And did I say how funny they are? I can't stop laughing.

Such a blast. Small town stories that are universally enjoyable and relatable. 10/10 would recommend.

Not only is the writing itself top-notch; the stories prismatic and layered and nuanced, but delivery of these written stories is on fleek. I want to meet every one of these people and hang out with them.
