Hello and welcome to The Torrey Smith Podcast! Today, Torrey is joined by a very special guest W.A.Smith, who is not only Torrey’s father but is also considered a piece of living history in Shelbyville. In a sprawling conversation, W.A. and Torrey reflect on their long family line based in Shelbyville and how they each brought their sensibilities to continuing their family’s Shelby County-based real estate business. W.A. also shares some well-earned life advice with his son, his extended family, and, thankfully, with us.  Episode Highlights: [0:19] Torrey introduces us to his father, W.A. It’s March Madness, and basketball is on everyone’s mind. But before they get to college, those athletes are mentored and coached by their high school coaches.   Today Torrey speaks with his friends Chris Gaither and Blake Traylor, head basketball coaches at Martha Layne Collins High School and Shelby County High School, respectively. Torrey and the coaches explore the role of the modern high school coach as they reflect on the challenges, successes, and lessons that they have experienced throughout their careers. They share their motivations to help positively impact the youth of Shelby County through high school athletics.  Join us for a warm and enlightening conversation with members of the Shelbyville community.
