The Technical Elements are Lacking
The topics look so promising, the speakers are credible, and the counseling profession needs a good podcast, I just wish the show was structured more efficiently, with specific talking points so that when it was done, you could say "this is what I learned," rather than "I listened to a conservation that at times dragged on and wasn't really helpful." so my feedback would be to consider improving the technical aspects, such as the actual audio from some of the presenters, which was difficult to hear at times, but also the technical format of the show. Some episodes are great but some are really lacking.

Great resource for counselor graduate students
I’m not typically a podcast person but this podcast is too beneficial to pass up as a clinical mental health grad student. A great range of topics are covered and I enjoy the pace and nature of the conversations.

I really like the format of the show and the practical suggestions. Very helpful for people who do counseling but also come in for therapy! Dr. John - The Mens Self Help Podcast

Thank You So Much!
I am currently a graduate student in a school counseling program and use these podcasts to get a lot of my indirect hours. The variability in topics that are presented allow me to get a lot of exposure to things that might not necessarily be taught in my program. Podcasts will leave me wanting to discuss different topics or questions with my fellow students and I love that experience. Thank you so much for starting this. It is really appreciated!

I needed this!
Thank you for a thoughtful, heartfelt discussion about race, trauma and counseling. As a white counselor, I appreciated this perspective sharing so much. Wonderful interview.

Counseling in training
Love, love, love this show. I am currently in my masters program for professional counseling, this show has been insightful and helpful. Keep up the good work. I would love to hear something more around the beginning counselor or should I say for the beginning counselor. Thanks

Improve audio
In the last year audio quality has dropped off. The most recent one I have tried to listen to, has multiple audio tracks playing at the same time. Making impossible to follow the information. I hope more review will be done before releasing in the future.

Great Topics
I am in my first semester of MA in Clinical mental health counseling and stumbled upon this podcast. I thoroughly enjoy the diversity of topics and speakers. I look forward to learning more about the counseling field through seasoned and even new professionals within the field.

Sound quality
This is a great podcast. I’m currently completing my internship as a master’s student in clinical mental health counseling, and find these podcasts relevant and informative. The only downside is that the sound quality on several of the episodes has been really terrible - echoes and fuzziness, so I have not been able to listen to them even after experimenting with different devices, volumes, and earphones/speakers. Disappointing, as I probably would have enjoyed the episodes!

Worth it!
This podcast is certainly worth your time! It’s a place to “nerd out” as Mikey said, without being emotional exhausted. The guests are experts in their respective fields. Mikey is an engaging and effective host, who masterfully facilitates rich conversation. You won’t regret subscribing here

I am a graduate student in clinical mental health counseling and I have found this podcast to be very helpful. There have been interviews with several leaders in the field, but the interviewer's questions have been on a level that I can understand as a counselor-in-training. I love the variety and the genuine curiosity and humility that the host uses in his approach towards the interview. Thank you,Thank you, Thank you for making this podcast. I love it.

Great podcast!
As a current student in Clinical Mental Health counseling, I couldn't have asked for a more interesting and helpful podcast. Definite listen for anyone wanting to keep informed on new research being done in the field.

Just what I've been looking for.
Wow, The Thoughful Counselor is just what I've been looking for in a counseling and mental health podcast. The first episode with Courtney Armstrong was fascinating, and I really enjoyed the host, Mike, who helped guide the interview with personality and charisma. Already referring students to this channel. Hope to see more from The Thoughtful Counselor!

The Thoughtful Counselor -- Courtney Armsrong
I enjoyed listening to this podcast and learning more about how music (playlists) can assist people in better expressing their feelings and/or help significant other people in their lives understand where they are coming from. "The Thoughtful Counselor" (Mike Shook) asked poignant questions and Author / Counselor Ms. Armstrong offers significant insight into this process. Great Podcast!
