I discovered “The Study” after listening to Raviv on Unorthodox. I started listening and now I am hooked. It is my new favorite podcast. It manages to motivate me to be a better person, while also helping me keep an open mind. I love it so much. Thank you for this podcast! Cannot recommend it enough.

I love this podcast. It’s so interesting, relevant, and nourishing, regardless of how “religious” or spiritual one considers themself to be. I don’t think you have to be Jewish to enjoy this podcast, but if you’re just a curious person, it’ll probably be tons of fun and much interest. I am a person who is converting to Judaism, and it’s an incredibly helpful resource as well as something I look forward to all week. Raviv is a good interviewer and listener and I really love the diverse array of topics in this podcast. Highly recommend!

I’m in the early steps of converting to Judaism, and this podcast has been so enlightening and comforting as I start my spiritual journey. The hosts are well-spoken and thoughtful. They don’t “dumb down” any of the topics discussed, but they are great at choosing their words and giving explanations that make the stories accessible even to those who may not be as familiar with the Torah coming into this (self call out). I also feel that the guests are well chosen in that they always make meaningful contributions to the discussion. The range of guests- including guests who don’t practice Judaism -gives many unique perspectives and is helpful for understanding how these stories can be interpreted and applied to modern life in many different ways. Anyway, this podcast has been really helpful for me and I truly can’t overstate how much I love it. Props to everyone involved, and my sincere thanks.

Love this! A positive and thought provoking podcast that makes my brain turn on when I listen. Love how the super old stories like the story of Passover are woven into current events. Also other highlight episodes for me were the contradictory creation stories and the episode on Noah’s ark. For the curious souls out there!

I was excited to listen after the first episode I enjoyed. Another listen quickly squelched that fire. I have zero desire to hear the insights of a witch as it related to Torah.

The Story intertwines the study of Judaism to the modern day cultural & social issues of the Millenial/Gen Z era. Raviv is an impressive host and brings varying personas in the aim of authentic & insightful discussions and perspectives. I’ve been feeling so disconnected from Judaism and Torah these last months, and this podcast is exactly what I needed. The Study is like having a chavrusa in my living room with me, and it means the world to me be able to connect to Torah again!

I listen to this podcast every Friday! It’s my pre-Shabbat ritual. I love getting to dive into the Torah portions via engaging and always-relevant discussions between the hosts and their guests. I converted to Judaism through the AJU Intro to Judaism program. Rabbi Adam is a very wise teacher. I love this Torah study and a chance to get to also hear the wisdom of Raviv Ullman and his guests. I have already listened to the episodes multiple times.

I'm so glad I told my boyfriend about this podcast (see review from GoodSoldier333, and note that it is mildly exaggerated). He is a Jew who never identified much with the faith and even went to Catholic school for a period of time, while I myself had a bit more Jewish education but never actually sat down and studied the Torah chapter by chapter. What I love about this podcast is that it is accessible and has much to offer for both of us! The diverse lineup of speakers and ideas makes the Torah seem more relevant than ever. We are enjoying learning and discussing each episode together!

This is a loving and careful study of an important text.

I grew up in a predominantly Christian town, and never fully resonated with the people, nor felt a true sense of community. Since leaving, I’ve studied a bit of Buddhism, Hinduism, and sought to learn more about Christianity away from the Church. I’m so excited to finally learn about Judaism, and deepen my understanding of spirituality through this lens, as taught by Rabbi Adam , and one of my favorite storytellers around, Raviv Ullman. Can’t wait to hear more!

I can't claim to be any sort of believer in organized faiths/religions, but i can certainly appreciate the study of a text that has guided so many people and policies in our world. A great podcast (from the second episode), and Raviv has a surprisingly great podcast voice; step aside Michael Barbaro.

I’m at the beginning of my process of converting to Judaism. Listening to this podcast every Friday has been the perfect way to learn more about the religion, the culture and how to question everything! Great, great, great podcast!

It started out with my girlfriend confessing to me that she had a really big attraction to Raviv Ullman and loved Phil of the Future in general during her childhood. When she said he was starting a podcast and that we should both listen I kind of rolled my eyes and said “sure honey...” It wasn’t until she told me the podcast was an exploration of our faith, the Torah, Jewish practices, etc...that I took an interest in this. This has been a very rewarding listen and we’ve both enjoyed discussing each episode and listening together as we continue to learn about ourselves, our world, and what it means to be Jewish. Who knew my girlfriend’s attraction towards another man would lead to such a rewarding space and would bring us even closer?

Wow this is mind opening. Considering, I never was aware of there being a part of observing a duality of creation. I’m intrigued and happily surprised. In all frankness, now I am more inclined to dig into this Dual Creation deeply. Thank you all for sharing. Shalom Aleichem!

As a purist atheist I can definitely appreciate and enjoy this take on the complexity and interest in theology whilst being realistic and modern. As a scientist this really is a refreshing take on the discussion of religion, specifically speaking about the Torah. It is finally an open discussion on accepting what I learned theology to be, a practice of personal belief through culture and experience with respect to individuals. I rather the hosts explain as they are masters in this. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Funny and informative, the podcast takes you on a serious but unpretentious journey through Judaism. I listen with my wife (who converted) and we both love it. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to add some Jewish audio into their routine.
