We are wrapping up season 1 of The Spirit-Led Leader Podcast. It's been 1 year and many lessons learned along the way. The goal of season 1 was to discover your God stories and learn who you are, where you are, and what God is calling you to do in this season of your life.  A few lessons to highlight from embarking on this journey are: When you start doing something new, understand that it may take longer than expected - extend yourself grace and keep going Seeing the incremental progress and benefits of showing up, allow you to appreciate slow and steady What God tells us to do for others is actually what He wants to do in us first. You can confidently pour out when you put in your reps The time it takes is less important than the journey you're on God specially allowed you to experience what you have so that you get a sense of who you are in him If you feel you're on the frontline, know that God wouldn't put you there without the right armor - pick up your shield of faith and go to war In season 2 we will focus on behavior and how we show up to be fruitful and multiply everything good.  We will do both audio and video podcast so be sure to subscribe to the podcast and YouTube channel. In today's episode, I am sharing the testimony of Mark Whitacre. Mark is an American business executive who came to public attention in the early 90s for being the highest level corporate executive in U.S. History to become a FBI whistleblower. The movie The Informant played by Matt Damon was based on Mark's story at that time.  One thing God revealed to me in preparation for this episode was, "when we wholly follow God, we inherit the promises of God." I asked Mark to share the moment he didn't wholly follow God and the result of that. What you'll learn from this story is that God is faithful, that no matter what we've done, He will show us love, grace, favor, and mercy. The one thing I want you to take away from this episode: when you wholly follow God, you don't need to illegally access the blessings of God because when you're a child, they are passed down to you.  Don't forfeit your inheritance for what seems to be instance reward and recognition. It’s Wholly Week! Palm Sunday commemorates the celebration of Jesus’ willingness to save us. It’s a day to remind us to welcome Jesus into our hearts and be willing to follow Him. “Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!” ~Matthew 21:9 (NKJV) Hosanna is the expression of praise – meaning a special honor to our savior. As we kickoff this week, I want to connect this dot. Wholeness is contingent on believing that Holy Week happened. What do I mean by wholeness? Wholeness is the state of God’s original design for our life, which was for each part of who we are to be perfectly interwoven, operating as a complete function. We were created before we had a physical body and soul. Looking at the Trinity – God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, they operate as one. Perfectly interwoven to function. That was His image according to their likeness. That’s how we were created and what God intended us to be like and do. Here’s the point: being our whole self is representative of our 3-parts (body, soul, and spirit) being perfectly interwoven to function as one. However due to the original sin, we were separated from the Spirit of God. It was the first time that man allowed for its soul to be spiritually influenced by something other than God to decide what the body should do. As a result of that decision, man became flawed, which is not like God. God is sinless, He is without blemishes and flaws. Hence separating us from God, making us different than God. This brokenness created a need for a savior because our spirit was no longer connected to its source. This disobedience drove man out of the presence of God. Jesus came so that we may be made whole, getting us back to our original design of operating wholistically.  Righteous is operating in accordance with divine law. This means, believing that we were condemned and in need of a Savior – who as Christians know that to be Jesus Christ, allows for us to get back to the original design – a 3-part being operating as a whole. What do I mean by fruitful? The abundance of the fruit of the Spirit – Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB) says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Getting back to what Holy Week also known as Passion Week, represents the passion, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus. It’s the week He saved us and gave us access to be made whole again. In the likeness of Christ, His flesh was crucified so that we may live and not be spiritually dead and disconnected from our Creator.   The first guiding principle in living wholistically is knowing that we are broken and in need of a savior. For the areas you’re feeling disconnected, ask yourself Who’s your savior? What do you look to and depend on when it’s time to decide how you show up and what you should do. You prospering in places meant for death lets others know (1) what your gift is and where it's needed and (2) that the Spirit of God is leading you. Today's episode is about developing your spirit-man. What do I mean by spirit-man? Spirit-man is the spirit of man, it is the place in which the Holy Spirit resides. As your spirit-man develops the more clearly you'd be able to hear and discern the voice of God. This is what makes spirit-man development so important. Today's big question is: What stage of The Spirit-Led Leader journey are you in? When you can take a moment to reflect on where you are struggling and hoping to improve you can more easily invite God in to where you are...not where you wish to be or hope to be, but where you actually are. This is important because God wants to be in the midst of what we're going through and to have a relationship with who we are, not who we pretend to be. That said as you listen to this episode get clear about the area you struggle with most when it comes to your relationship with God. What are you hoping to improve and while you may feel like there are multiple areas, choose the area that most resonate with you. Below I have outlined the different struggles.
