You might wonder why I'm interviewing someone who owns a yarn store, however as you'll hear in this episode, there is so much more to the journey of knitting and crochet. There's the journey of being really bad at something, before you get good, letting go of perfection, allowing yourself to sit and do something enjoyable and so much more. After this conversation I could fully understand why both my grandmothers knitted!
Kerryn is inspired to help you on your slow craft journey and offers online courses for beginners, loads of beautiful patterns and all her products are natural, which I absolutely love! I also have a feeling you'll get some real gems in our conversation, so get cosy and join us in The Soul Full Lounge.

Amy Dinniss was a fit, active, determined, vibrant interior designer and mother to two amazing kids. She participated in half marathons, sailed yachts, ate healthy, meditated and practiced yoga, yet Amy's body began to show signs that she wasn't well at all. At first she continued to push herself, but her body had other ideas.
This is Amy's story; from fit and active to wheelchair bound, and the woman she became along the way.
Amy is an absolute inspiration and if you get to be in her presence, you will see that her wellness isn't just physical, her whole vibe is radiant and she is a joy to be around!

Bex Lipp was born into this world, as a very sensitive person who struggled with her emotions. She soaked up everyone's experiences and she never knew how to process what she was feeling. At times she didn't feel she belonged in this world. As an adult she became a very high functioning woman and found herself back in an incredibly dark space. It was from here, with lots of support, that she began to slowly, over time, find her light, heal and grow.
Bex experiences have shaped who she has become and with her co-founder from Wilding Books, Craig Phillips, they create books that little wildlings will always remember, even as adults. Books that empower and inspire the little wildling in all of us, bridging the gap between what professionals know and what parents and teachers need to know with their Aroha series of books. Wildling Books aids to empower our wildlings with the knowledge and guidance to live a life they love, where their wildness can shine. Together Bex and Craig share first-hand learned wisdom through the stories they create with the aim to affect cultural change for the next generation.
Get cosy and join Bex and I for an inspiring conversation, where I learn more about her journey through tough times, to making an incredibly positive impact in the world.

Dr David Beaumont and I sat down, (via zoom) to discuss his book Positive Medicine - Disrupting the Future of Medical Practice. We chatted about his vision for the future of medical practice which he believes lies beyond the doctor-patient relationship and into a person-doctor partnership. David says "we should be able to choose what is best for our own health, not be swept along (or forgotten) by systems." He also shares how this vision can be achieved and the work he's doing, which is empowering people around their health and well-being. This is a great conversation!
Get cosy and join us in The Soul Full Lounge for a thought provoking conversation and make sure you stick around for a fantastic question which David encourages you to reflect on.
More about David:
Dr. Beaumont resides in Cromwell and works as a specialist doctor in the health of workers. He has assessed and advised thousands of people who have been ‘let down’ by healthcare systems and not returned to work, experiencing years or a lifetime of disability. From stories his clients have shared with him, and his own experience of ill health — including a heart attack, hip replacements and depression — he came to realise that there needs to be a shift in emphasis to preventative health. He is focused on seeing people in the context of their whole lives.
The Cromwell Experiment
Dr. David Beaumont is launching a 6-month project, putting into practice his theories from the book. His concepts and the logical reasoning for why a radical shift in healthcare delivery is needed will be tested in this project, ‘The Cromwell Experiment.’ ‘We are providing the opportunity for the community and the doctors and practice teams who serve that community to come together to demonstrate the value of a whole person approach to health,’ shares Dr. Beaumont. ‘In Cromwell, we have a discrete, engaged community of a size which is ideal to test the concept of a new model of health for the whole of Aotearoa New Zealand.’‘This is a project which engages with the community and medical services to collaborate in the co-design of a health and wellbeing programme which not only promotes health but at the same time aims to address the growing problem of doctor burnout, recruitment and retention of doctors in rural communities.’The intention of the Cromwell Experiment is ultimately is to enable a significant proportion of the population of Cromwell to go through the programme and to improve the health and wellbeing of the community.

Bec is the founder of Rebel Starseeds which was born out of her passion for teaching, something she's been doing for the past 7 years. More specifically, it was her passion for nurturing our young women that put a rocket under her, to help this dream come to life!
In this conversation we discuss the pressures our girls (and boys) face from social media and society, we also discuss tips and ideas around parenting. Don't think that this podcast is just for parents though, if you've ever felt pressure from society, this podcast is for you too.
Bec's mission is to lead intelligent, purposeful rebellion for an empowered and inspiring life. Having now watched many of our girls evolve over the years, she believes intelligent rebellion is the key here – this is what we need to do to avoid self degradation from media, social media, marketing and societal norms and expectations. We rebel with a very worthy cause. We rebel to find our own path, to be happy in our own skins. This continues to be a challenge Bec works towards everyday. It's probably a challenge we all work towards!
Bec is a multi-passionate human, who relishes adventure and play. Some of those adventures include studying overseas, gaining her pilot’s licence, 5 epic summers of surf lifesaving, many moons at university, becoming a yoga teacher, practicing as a lawyer and then becoming a teacher, hiking, surfing, snowboarding, becoming a life coach through Beautiful You Coaching Academy and youth mentor with Shine From Within, and learning, practicing and now also teaching the healing art of Reiki. And that’s just to name a few!
