Huge Fan of SE
Love what you guys do and stand for. I’ve been a fan since 2019 and episode 210 was amazing. It inspired me to write a review, buy the book sapiens, and download the app. My close friends and family tell me I have a way with people and I’ve never encountered before they talk about your podcast all the time and I believe that I would make a great SE. I’m coming to the end of a 20 year USCG career. How would one be able to get involved in this field? Thank You please keep up the hard work Marco

Bringing the Human to Technology
The Social Engineer Podcast (and movement) brings it back to the human element. This is critical as we see more and more the rise of AI/ML and more tech that takes humans out of the equation. Humans are and will always be there, and we need to acknowledge that! Keep it up!

This podcast is a must in my monthly routine every month a interesting and valuable topic is chosen with industry leaders as guest. Each episode is a mini seminar!

Punches way above the weight class
Chris Hadnagy has been a leader in Social Engineering for over a decade. His interviews of Robin Derek, Joe Navarro, and countless subject matter experts have helped me over the years as a Security contractor. The mindset, how to perceive your surroundings, it’s all critical to success. This is info to use at work and at home, to protect those you love. I can’t recommend this podcast enough, plus Clutch...’nuff said!

Needs a Microphone
Great podcast, excellent guests and content...but still sounds like it’s either phoned in on a rotary phone or from inside an aquarium. Maybe someone could start a go fund me for getting a microphone!!

Episode 120 Bad Audio
Excellent content. Really bad audio on episode 120. Barely understood the audience questions.
Time is Priceless

There are fascinating kernels, but tons of chaff.
Earlier episodes were more engaging and interesting. Later ones depend greatly on how well the hosts are interviewing the guests. Too many episodes have huge blocks of introductory, rambling, unfocused chatting. Much is highly repetitive from episode to episode. I *want* to like this podcast more. Tips to creators: 1. Dave, please stop with the Bruce Hornsby. Or please learn from practicing comedians about how to make (and keep!) something funny and not cross over into predictable and exhausting. Also, after all of the episodes all I can associate with you is: lunch hours, Bruce Hornsby, and absence from most episodes. As a show personality, what is your contribution? What is your “voice”? 2. Everyone else: Tighten up the timeline. Put strict limits on non-episode-topic items, or come up with format that clearly distinguishes the segments. This won’t make it boring. Limits contain creativity and allow it space to be expressed. I want to look forward to episodes again and want to listen. You have the platform, the knowledge, the experience, and the people. Leverage that.

Missing Michelle 😿
Great podcast but has definitely lost something since Michelle left. I wish we could have had a little more context re. her departure or possibly even an episode where she could have said goodbye or something - just felt very abrupt and the lack of any context just makes it seem like idk something bad happened. Also, really haven’t enjoyed the “meta” discussions on recent podcasts (eps. 101 & 102 specifically), such as “how can society keep kids from turning into hackers”. Honestly guys, better minds than any of ours have already tackled such issues and I think real solutions very quickly delve into things like politics and morality, something I don’t really tune into this show to hear about. What I *do* enjoy is interesting ideas from other fields, discussion of how to protect oneself from SE attacks, etc. Please stay focused - don’t like skipping episodes but recently I just can’t get through them anymore whereas I used to savor each one. Thank you for all the hard work that goes into these episodes. I only share the above feedback with the hope that it can help you all improve 😊

Annoying intro music
The audio quality could be improved for older episodes & the Intro music is too long & pointless.

Very enjoyable podcast
I just found this podcast and listened to the first 2 episodes. I enjoy the dynamics between the crew, and conduct great interviews. Keep up the great work.

Educational, Interesting, and Delightfully irreverent
A podcast focused on understanding humans through intelligent discussion of a wide variety of topics. I believe learning a bit about everything is both fun and useful, so I love how each episode's guests represent different professions and industries and specialties, not just InfoSec. You won't only be exposed to discussion about what motivates and influences people, you will learn things about yourself as well, and self-awareness is a major key to SE. Building on foundational concepts via an ever-expanding core set of knowledge can improve our lives, jobs, and endeavors. This family-friendly podcast is extremely entertaining and informative.

Bruce Hornsby makes me want to blow my brains out
You know when you have an inside joke that has spiraled out of control? That's what happened with this podcast and why I can not listen to it anymore. One of the people who sometimes decides to show up on the show thinks it is hilarious to play Bruce Hornsby. It's not funny dude. It was never funny. Knock it off, please. To Chris: the host and author of social engineering. I loved your book, and enjoy your guest interviews. Thanks for sharing the good stuff.

Too much chatter
More relevant information, less uninteresting personal conversations.

Please...
Roughly a third of each episode is actual content. If you don't mind skipping through (or wasting your time listening to) the rest of it then the podcast might be good for you. The rest of each episode is just the hosts' inept ribbing of one another, and banal discussions about which conferences they may or may not go to, who's giving a talk about some flimflam idea. When they do, finally, at long last, get down to brass tacks they are not very good at engaging their guests or bringing specificity to the abstract practice of social engineering. Many of the guests seem a bit confused/uncomfortable about the goals of social engineering, which gives me the impression that the hosts haven't been entirely forthright with the people they invite - but that's just my impression. It's also possible that real professionals (the guests) are put off by the childish demeanor with which the podcast is conducted. In sum, I got roughly what I paid for. I'm inclined to think this is some kind of troll.

I love listening to you guys! I am not a social engineer, and do not desire to be one, but I find that I can apply information from your interviews to daily life. You have a new fan fa sho!

Very interesting podcast on a fascinating topic
Just discovered this podcast and am really enjoying it. The insights into human behavior and how easily we can be fooled, persuaded and manipulated are just fascinating. You would probably be surprised as well. Definitely worth subscribing. I also purchased the book by Hadnagy - a very good read. He provides an excellent review of Cialdini's persuasion techniques, but then goes way beyond them. Excellent.

Polish it up guys (and girl)!
When I found this podcast on social engeneering I was very excited. However I ended up being kind of dissapointed. a) I listened tot he eposide of with Jordan Harbinger which was fascinating but the hosts burned a lot of time rambling about unrelated, unimportant subjet matter. b) The hosts also spent about 30 minutes of the listeners time having a petty arguement with each other and making unfunny, insulting jokes. As experts on social engineering I would expect the host to know better. Overall the podcast delivered a lot of fascinating content on social engineering so I think I will download a few other episodes.
