I was looking for a resource that would help me to study the Bible deeply, and I’m really glad to have found this podcast! Although, when you consider that every episode is focusing on a single verse, it most certainly will be a SLOW Bible study. Potentially, this podcast will be 23,145 episodes long if it manages to cover the entirety of the Bible. But, I encourage the creator to persist in this endeavor. I believe on the other side of this, both the creator of this podcast and the listener will be deeply enriched by a faithful deep, submissive study of scripture. I am looking forward to it! I’ve been searching for a resource to help me begin to understand the scriptures the original way the ancient Hebrew and Greek intended. I have never learned any Hebrew or Greek and I have no theological training. I’m glad to have found this podcast.

This is dear old Uncle Dan writing to you! Your podcasts are so rich in detail that I think I will need to listen again and again. I do appreciate your approach which encourages people to stop and consider the deeper aspects of the scriptures. I remember my Old Testament professor at ND would often say, “People forget that these are ancient texts!” I think what comes clearly through in your podcast is your love for scholarly study. I recall Tevye’s song “If I Were a Rich Man”, when he sings, “And I’d discuss the holy books with the learned me seven hours every day / and that would be the sweetest thing of all.” Thanks John for your effort!
