Jacob Copeland was aware of his athletic gifts at a young age. Using sports to stay out of the life Pensacola, Florida provided, he excelled at Escambia High School in multiple sports, but the most apparent was his skill on the football field. Jacob had over 2,000 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns on over 100 receptions and gained the attention of multiple Power 5 schools across the nation.
Jacobs's decision was notorious because his mother walked off ESPN live when Jacob picked the university of Florida over Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Clemson and Georgia.
After Jacobs's redshirt year, he found himself in a crowded Wide Reciever room year in and year out. Jacob, instead of complaining, worked day in and day out to perfect his craft. In Jacobs's final year at Florida, Dan Mullens awarded Jacob the #1 Jersey to represent Copeland's dedication to improving his football attributes.
Following the departure of Dan Mullens from the University of Florida, Jacob decided to enter the transfer portal and see his options. Jacob found a new home at the University of Maryland with Head Coach Mike Locksley. Jacob has made it clear this is his last year playing collegiate football. He expects to enter the NFL draft after balling out for the Terrapins. Diamonds in the Draft are Found at NFL Draft Diamonds
