Terrific. Needed during these times of QAnan and so much other total nonsense. Winner.

Awesome idea for a podcast!
Great, this should be required listening for high school students.

Love it! Very smart people.
Can we get more of these?

Blows My Mind
Quite often they talk about things that are over my head but in general it's a fantastic source for recent news items and fun scientific facts. I love it and listen to this podcast all the time whilst at work.

Excellent Podcast!
You will not regret subscribing to this podcast. It's packed full of science fun and the host Steven Novella does an excellent job of organizing and producing the show. I've listened to this show since it started and have loved every episode. Aside from the entertainment quality the discussions on logic and evaluation of arguments and evidence helps listeners to develop their own ability to determine the truthfulness of pseudo scientific claims. Complete devoid of actusly debunking,
As a general skeptic, I hoped to find a good source of facts that could be used to aid the debunking of some of the more popular and accepted myths and conspiracy theories. Instead I found nothing more than a bunch of people who laugh at those who do believe in such things without offering any facts or information explaining why these popular myths and conspiracy theories are inaccurate and unfounded. The podcast offers little more than constantly repeating the manta of, "People who believe (name your conspiracy theory) are nuts and fools, and that's all youy need to know." No meat, no facts, no arguments based in scientific evidence and, therefor, this isn't a debunking podcast at all. Very disappouinting. There are much better skeptic podcasts out there.

More subject matter, less stand up
You guys used to take this podcast seriously and present it in a concise, succinct manner. Now all you do is try to keep the comedic banter going on and on. If I want comedy, I can download Conan. Get back on track.

5x5 oustanding
These are great, short educational pieces that are cuss free. Outstanding and appropriate for kids.

So happy to see a new episode!
This is a great, quick companion to the original SGU, or a good starter for new listeners. I've been wondering what happened, and I'm glad to see it's back!
pingje
Very informative
Love it.

The subject matter might have been good- I downloaded several episodes because it sounded interesting, but after listening for 20 minutes to their self congratulating, snorting over each others jokes as if auditioning for Car Talk and exhorting me to tell all my friends to tune in, all without touching the subject matter, I deleted everything. Can I get my time refunded?

Lots of info packed in 5
I love 5x5 -- so much info presented in such a compact timeframe. I hope they start making these again.

Great companion podcast, but...
... where are the new episodes, guys? Five minutes a week is easy, not sure why it has been nearly five months since this was updated.
Skeptastic
Quick, clear, concise
So much information presented in small, but complete, portions. This, along with Skeptoid and Quackcast, are the best skeptical information podcasts available.

A Convenient Package of Bite-Sized Rogues!
You guys seriously rock! I'd say you have the best skeptical podcast out there, and Dr. Novella, your production skills are superb! Your opening theme is also most excellent! Best wishes to all of you, and keep up the good work!

?
I'm sorry, I like science and all we can prove or not. But the being a skeptic for the sake of being a skeptic. Well that gets old quick. Sometimes I gatta wonder if these people would accept their mothers word on the time of day. The production quality is good and is very listenable. But I do not listen anymore.

Love it!
Great "101" lessons in critical thinking. They need to do more, more, MORE!

definitely recommend!
i really enjoy this podcast; sometimes i find the longer skeptic's guide show to be a bit too long, and i like that this one is short and sweet.

Great short analysis!
This is a great on the run podcast! For those asking for expert interviews and other analysis outside of the literature, you really need to turn to the full Skeptic's Guide to the Universe Podcast for that, not the 5 min podcast. Keep it up guys (and Rebecca).

Learn Lots!
These are quick, yet in depth disections of various relevent topics. 5 minutes and you know everything there is to know about a given skeptical topic. Pull all these on your mp3 device and boost your brain.

A must have!

Poor
i was surprised to see the high marks for this one-sided podcast. There are no skeptical comments to the 'party line. This is a really shallow podcast, no one thinks outside the 'MAINSTREAM' box. You could say this podcast is paid for by the Rockefeller foundation

Just a quick review of print then say I'm skeptical
I am really disappointed in this podcast. When they get around to reviewing a subject matter, the process seems to be: 1) lets see what is in print/literature, 2) then follow up with a chorus of 5 people saying "I'm skeptical" of this. What I don't see is them taking the extra time to talk with a SME (Subject Matter Expert) or any validation outside what seems to have been convenient for them to have looked up on some web source. As a fellow skeptic I find what is lacking is them presenting the "Best Possible" evidence for something to be true and commenting on that. Instead they comment on a generalization or trend. The easiest to prove my case was how skeptical they were on hypnotism eliminating pain for the guy who had oral surgery. Had they taken a minute to contact the National Guild of Hypnotists and ask for a referral to a local certified hypnotist they could have seen the result first hand. I am not saying they have to have first hand evidence, but they should look into what the "Best Experts" have to say on the subject and if there is a simple way to find out more, they should. I would hope that this could be a reliable source for my skeptical learning. Something they have not covered yet but others have is the case of "Springheeled Jack" and his feats. Many skeptics simply look at this an simply dismiss it out right. But some skeptics have actually gone the extra step and have learned about "Urban Running" or "Parkour" and all the sudden Jack's feats seem pretty tame to what these guys do everyday. I hope the 5x5 will start taking that extra step to help us skeptics get more than the basic skeptic dismissal so common nowadays.

Good, concise, clear podcast about good, concise, clear critical thinking skills!

General review
These guys ask the right questions, but they get too tied up in their emotional opinions and name calling. Please stick to the facts.

Great companion to SGU
I think the best thing they've done with this podcast is use it as a way in which the layperson can understand some of the heavier scientific content in the SGU. This podcast has also helped me become a better skeptic. I have learned more about logical phallacies and how to make coherent arguments. Thank you for going beyond the SGU for the community.

5 minutes is too short
This mini version of the excellent Skeptics' Guide to the Universe is just too short. Try for a 10 minute show so there's time for an actual discussion. With the current format it seems that people are rushed and they compete for "air time". It is good and I listen every week, but it could be better.
Future Billionaire
A highlight clip show of the premiere Skeptical Podcast
This is more or less a much shortened version of the Skeptic's Guide to the Universe podcast. It's shorter, more directed and ultimately succeeds where that particular podcasts brings itself down (which is length). Definitely one of if not the best in podcasts for skeptics. Matched only by the Skeptic's Guide to the Universe.

Learn to Think Critically
I have been listening to this podcast since it started because I was already listening to the main SGU podcast. This podcast has more fact and little opinion. It seems rehearsed, but that is fine because it means they stay on track to discuss either a skeptic topic or an aspect of critical thinking in their 5 minute . The series on logical fallacies is very helpful. Many people fall into one of these fallacies, even those who are known to think logically, so it is good to have clear definitions. Overall, an informative and clear podcast. Worthwhile listening.

Short and sweet
Although lacking much of the banter that I like from the Skeptics Guide to the Universe, the short but thorough single-topic coverage is a great addition to my critical thinking podcast selection.

Nice supplement to the SGU
I haven't missed an SGU or SG 5x5 since I started listening. This might be a good sampler for those not sure if they'd like the full length SGU.

Most worthwhile listening in the podcast universe
Helping enlighten people to the ways of science and shining light upon the darkness of ignorance, the Skeptical Rogues of the SGU are people of critical thinking and wit. This as well as the Skeptics' Guide To The Universe are must listen to podcasts for anyone interested in the truth that science produces.

Great to cover the basics of skepticism! Love the 101 series.

It's not enough...
to tide me over until the next SGU, but it'll have to do.

Skepticism, in a little package!
One of my favorite shows. I just wish it was longer, but I guess that would defeat the point.

Prepare to learn like you should have
This should be required listening for every educated American (should be everyone), but especially for every science teacher, along with the longer podcast The Skeptics Guide to the Universe. Take your idea of common sense to a whole new level by subscribing to these podcasts. Even subjects I was not previously worried about become interesting in these podcasts. Keep up the great work rogues.
