A brief look at John chapter 11 and Jesus' famous statement "I AM the Resurrection and the Life."

This week we're doing a quick study in the second chapter of 1st Corinthians. In this passage, Paul beautifully breaks down the importance of pursuing God's wisdom rather than man's wisdom. But he doesn't just talk about how important it is... he talks about how accessible it is! If you read the Book of Revelation and don't see the glory and majesty of Jesus... you're reading it wrong! Revelation is not primarily about the unfolding of the tribulation. It is about the unveiling of the glory and majesty of Jesus in the midst of a broken and dark world. In this week's episode, we'll take a look at Matthew 16:13-23. In these verses, Peter had two separate experiences with Jesus. The first one was glorious. Jesus praised Peter for having received revelation knowledge from the Father and spoke incredible words of affirmation. In the second experience, Peter was rebuked by Jesus for being mindful of the things of man rather than the things of God. What's interesting is that Jesus indicated that Peter's earthly-minded thinking was actually demonically influenced! When we set our minds on earthly things, we actually position ourselves to speak and act contrary to God's will for our lives. When we set our minds on things above (see Colossians 3:2), we actually position ourselves to increase in heavenly wisdom and understanding. Heavenly-mindedness is the key to breakthrough and supernatural living!
