Most recently, she has been working as an independent consultant for Head Start programs in Kansas, providing mentoring and trainings for directors and management staff; she develops and conducts individualized trainings and workshops.  Trainings have focused on program implementation, data analysis, and enhancing classroom outcomes.   In an effort to target school readiness, she has mentored Head Start grantees in compiling and analyzing their CLASS and child outcomes data, which has lead to pinpointing areas of strength and need and to setting program wide goals. Remember that early childhood science is– exploring materials/events, asking questions, investigating, recording/representing their work, reflecting on what they have done and what it means – allow them to create and develop new theories or ideas about how the world works.  Find what the children are interested in and begin your science project with something of their choosing. Her passions include early childhood topics, working with families in poverty, coaching, and literacy. She is also a certified MTSS math facilitator. She began her career teaching reading in the primary grades. Later she began working with children with special needs in the preschool classroom. The majority of her career she has spent working at Head Start. Most recently she worked with teen parents and their babies in an Early Head Start Classroom. Carianne is a Kansas State University graduate with a degree in elementary education. She later received an endorsement from McPherson College in early childhood special education.
