Love the mix of news and pop culture in the podcast it’s exactly the type of smart updates i’m looking for in one neat show! I came from substack and love the newsletter so i’m very happy that this podcast now exists.

This podcast fills such an important space in our news cycle as so many of us are overwhelmed by it all. This shows allows you to stay informed without being depressed and stressed!

Love this podcast, it never fails to disappoint! I love how they breakdown the news but also go into pop culture stuff — it helps me feel relevant with the whole variety of “cocktail party topics,” if you will, while also being wildly funny and entertaining and somehow, still hopeful. My favorite part of this podcast is that I always leave feeling more optimistic, even if the world is a hellscape in so many ways.

SYSCA is a beacon in a really dark world. You cannot depend on mainstream media to report the details of the corruption of the modern age because they’re complicit at this point. I genuinely feel like this podcast is one of the only ways to receive realistic information about what’s happening in the world these days.

They do a very good job at making politics digestible. Especially for someone like me who has a lot going on but still wants to be clued in on reality and the outside world. Also, another source for pop culture tea from people I genuinely find interesting and educated.

Very harsh judgment of one of the safest countries based on what research? TikTok videos? You don’t live in Singapore and quite frankly your opinions does not matter. What good does it do to decrease the punishment? All it does is benefit the criminals and encourage them!

I had to unsubscribe after the episode about the FIFA. I can’t get myself to continue to listen to a podcast that has their emotions come before logic. This years World Cup is being held in an extremely conservative country. The laws that are in place there were put in place by Qatar’s gov’t, not by FIFA. Everyone there is a guest in another country, and as hosts they just asked that we be respectful of their laws. FIFA setting certain rules is for everyone’s SAFETY. How anyone cant see that is beyond me. It is not FIFA who set the prices for the beer, the laws involving homosexuality, etc. So to call them corrupt for that is just wrong. I was a bigger fan of the show years ago but throughout time, it’s become harder and harder to follow and I just can’t see the logic behind many stances that are discussed.

I listen every week - my favorite news source. So fun yet informative - thank you Luce, Squish, and Ruby!
