the co-hosts start in prayer, posturing their hearts in the freedom abounding in the mighty and gracious God. gavin shares a verse from james, and later in the pod, expands on what it means to him. before meeting the cohost and asking the deep, personal, intrinsic questions, gavin does the long awaited intro. which makes the co-host raise the roof, an act, out of pure joy. victor (JeFf) shares how he got on the pod and explains his journey to the united states, bringing about an emphasis on Christianity and faith in God. (keep reading). victor surprises gavin by telling him he’s only been in the states for 2 years! the coming to america invited this co-host, to Christ. in kenya, the biggest block was the people around him. teenagers who would be-little others because of their faith in God (imagine that) kids have effects on each and everyone of us. regardless of what you believe, peers can have a significant change on what you believe. victor shared about when he felt the feeling to be born again and man oh man was it a beautiful revelation. to start the journey, the winding road, the beautiful journey. the co-host talks about the immediate and later affects of being born again. that Christianity isn’t a religion where people lead strict lifestyles but it’s a relationship. once you act on that weird tingling feeling to come closer to God, washing your hands, you start to receive a joy that is awe-inspired. Gavin talks a bit more about the verse found in james 4:8. and victor shares the one thing that separates man from God, is sin. it repels you from the nature of God. victor drops some straight up science that defines a bit about God’s character. He, God, is omnipotent. science and belief of God co-exists says the co-host. God created science but is boundless to the limits of it. the world is spacious, in time, and formable. Stepping into a posture that God had given him everything, Gavin sets out talking to God. THIS IS LITERALLY THE THIRD SEASON. COME ON DAWG, THAT IS AWESOME. Gavin gives a long-awaiting introduction, so set your volume to low, so you keep your ears intact. Gavin points out a brother in faith, nudged him toward God, and that is how we got here. In all humility, Gavin has no idea what is going to happen with this podcast, but he is trusting God throughout this season. (AJR song gets mentioned). Gracious hearts towards you, the listener, you don’t have to listen (or read or step up and be apart of the vent) but you are. Gavin points out that without the faithful audience, he would still be doing his thing but with you, apart of it, it feels more significant. Some things have changed others have stayed the same. THE DEEP QUESTION CAME BACK, and Gavin introduced it horribly long. He tells a story about blueberries and footballs (where does that fit in, the show notes, nobody knows..) Coming back to the significance of your presence in this community, Gavin reminds you, that you are worthy, appreciate, hand knit by a God who hand knit the world. He has a job, understands motives in wrestling with temptation and porn. And it sucked. The audience reached out constantly, and finally Gavin opened the door to where God has been all along. It’s a choice to let Him in. The host didn’t know what he was doing when he said he’d continue the pod, but he did it anyway. That is faith. To not know and THEN to do. Starting off with a nice spoonful of gratitude, the ‘closer’ of season two begins. The goal of this episode is to just hash out the season’s festivities, with a few of the co-hosts. The hosts, starting with Reese, is honestly just living and having fun. Moving on to Larry, he is dealing with some stressors at work and is just steadily ripping that potato chip. Conversation includes schooling, the crazy weather, and so much more. Gavin shares his reason for the season; that Jesus suffered the many abuses not for the spiritual things we get lost in – but for us. As seasons of life transition from one to another, Gavin points out some feelings of, “not being ready”. Along with the truth that we are constantly being provided for in this transitional period. Everyone’s favorite part of the episode, the important topic, lingering in all of your thoughts all week: the important questions. As you might remember from previous episodes, these questions feature not just the commonality of simple questions, but the real...important...questions. The questions that reveal ourselves at our deepest depths. The co-host believes that cardboard is easier to swallow than a pan (does that confuse you🤔- tap that play button to quench your curiosity😌). After a brief conversation about pans and cardboard, Gavin asks Reese (the co-host) how she got on the podcast? That answer can be found deeper within the description- if you would like to be the next co-host- you probably should look at that. Reese is a self proclaimed, ‘pretty good’ ballroom dancer and enjoys some pop punk y2k music. Not only is she a ‘pretty good dancer’, she is also recognized as a, “Gavin-Proclaimed: Pretty Good Steering Wheel Drummer”, which is in accomplishing feat on its own. She claims that she listens to music within the times that she does not want to think. She mentions that other people read, she just listens to music and plays some sick notes on her steering wheel! After getting around the point that Gavin has a hard time pronouncing a specific word (if you want to know what word- you should probably tap that play button). Reese describes her personal beliefs: “Instead of believing in a person, like God, I believe in the universe and (how) everything falls together.” She continues on to say that, she turns to the universe for reassurance. The co-hosts agree that sight is not always the same throughout life but continues, as does life. Gavin discusses his position towards prayer, that being an “everlasting conversation” with our Creator. She talks about how hard it is to come up with signs, on her own, and describes what her ‘step back process’ looks like in a hard life decision. The co-host also talks about her categories of anxiety. Gavin describes a quote, he heard from the ministry known as, “Wild at Heart” and discusses a possible perspective shift. Gavin also goes on to say his beliefs, and mention to the audience the idea that the God who created this world, can also publish a book (Bible). Can the same God of yesterday, be alive today and publish a book? Gavin thinks so. Welcome back to another episode of, The Shared Vent! Starting off with a prayer of consecration, the beginning of yet, another installment of this podcast. Gavin welcomes on, “LARRY” (ik ik- hold you excitement)! To further this episode, Gavin asks the co-host a very specific question in your favor.
