Kent reads the last several verses of chapter 5 on Transcendence in From Passion to Peace by James Allen. He emphasis the significance of moving in the direction to be taught by Truth, rather than by men and books. 

Kenny reads verses 12 through 17 of chapter 5 From Passion to Peace. Moving from the experience of evil to mastery over it by laying hold of the good. Ultimately Truth, even revelation, becomes your source, rather than other men, other women, or books. 

Kenny reads about and expounds upon the contrast of the transcendent divine life vs the passion filled self-life—from chapter 5 of Allen’s From Passion to Peace.   

Kent announce PDFs of Allen’s books are being formatted and will be made available on website shortly (the new format includes paragraph numbers, for easy reference). A few verses of chapter 5 from Allen’s From Passion to Peace book are discussed, including defining a saint, a sage, and a transcendent life. Kent ties Allen’s readings in with reference to NT teaching about being a “partaker of the divine nature.” 

Kenny expounds upon the reading of James Allen’s 4th chapter of From Passion to Peace. He teaches that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is what makes  transmutation possible. Transmutation from the natural and carnal man to being a partaker of the divine nature is at-one-ment at work—it is to become one with God and opens the door for living “the transcendent life.” Next time we’ll dive into transcendence. 

Kent defines transmutation and reads first half of chapter 4 From Passion to Peace. Transmutation is the big aha! It includes the transference of pain energy to joy energy. It is the process of releasing the natural man and the partaking of the divine nature. It is spiritual alchemy--made possible through the atonement of Christ (more on podcast #15 to come). Transmute the sorrow of base thoughts by flipping the switch that allows pure thoughts to triumph, just as a light switch dispels the darkness when turned on. This self-conquest takes practice of Truth which will give you the same results as having a room with the light on. You will then see things as they really are.  

Kent ties a Book of Mormon favorite of turning weakness to strength with the end of chapter 3 From Passion to Peace on temptation. Come unto Christ for this spiritual alchemy, even transmutation from weakness to strength.  Rejoice in temptation, rather than sorrow—it is symbolic of being on the right path.
