On this episode of The Sci-Fi Film School Podcast, we talk about the 1986 movie Highlander.

Starring Christopher Lambert, as Connor MacLeod / Russell Nash , Sean Connery, as Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, Clancy Brown, as The Kurgan/Victor Kruger, and Roxanne Hart as Brenda Wyatt.


Born in the Highlands of Scotland in 1518, Connor Macleod is immortal. When he is wounded in battle but does not die, he is banished from his village. He meets another like himself, Ramirez, who teaches him swordsmanship--the only way to kill another immortal is to take his head--and the ways of the immortals. Modern-day New York is the location of "The Gathering," where Connor and the few remaining immortals must battle to the last for "The Prize."

Highlander is also known for use of several songs by the band Queen, including the main theme Princes of the Universe and Who Wants To Live Forever, both of which were used in this film's sequels and the TV spin-off.
