Marc Trasolini - "Our Identity Beyond Athletes"
Marc was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Went to Vancouver College high school, and then earned an athletic scholarship to Santa Clara where he was a recipient of All Freshman, All Conference, Academic All American and numerous other awards. During Marc's time at Santa Clara they won two postseason championships, the CBI and CIT. Marc then chose to pursue his dream of playing professional basketball and signed with an agent and got recruited to play in Italy where he played for his first 3 professional seasons. He then played one season in France and the next five seasons in Japan. Newly retired this past summer Marc now lives with his wife and two young boys just outside of Vancouver. Currently working for a private equity real estate firm which focuses on commercial real estate development in Western Canada.I've known Marc since our battles on the court throughout high school. We also got to train together during basketball Canada's Centre for Performance program and I can attest that Marc is one of the hardest workers I've met. It's a pleasure seeing the success he was able to achieve on the court, it is well deserved. It's also great seeing the balance that he has built within his personal and professional life thus making his transition into retirement an easy one, and one I think many fellow players can learn a lot from.In our conversation we delved into:The analogy between basketball and life and the lessons we learn through sportThe importance of the mental side for succesful athletesThe importance of family and balance and developing interests off the court as wellTaking care of our body for career longevity Our identity beyond athletes on the courtAnd much, much more!!The podcast is called:The School of PerformanceFollow us on all these different platforms for lots of great contentYoutube- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBVd2cm-CkUHNgkfUuywbVQSpotify -https://open.spotify.com/show/28lmUkC18D8afC99EBBnEC...Tik Tok- https://vm.tiktok.com/ZSeyHYCqr/

Allison McNeill - "The Power of Leadership"
Allison guided the Canadian Women’s National basketball team to their first appearance in the Olympic Games since 2000 and equaled the best performance ever by a Canadian Women’s Basketball team. She has served as Canada’s Head Coach since 2002 and has led Canada to two World Championship (2006 and 2010) appearances as well. After an illustrious 13-year career at SFU, advancing to 3 NAIA Final 4’s, she served as the Associate Head Coach at the University of Oregon helping the Ducks to the WNIT title in 2002 and an NCAA tournament spot in 2005.She is currently the Head Coach of the BC Centre for Performance, the Tri-Cities Youth Basketball Association Master Coach and a sought after public speaker. The Coaching Association of Canada awarded her the Geoff Gowan Award recognizing her lifetime contribution to coaching development in Canada.I had the pleasure of working alongside Allison and her husband Mike doing a youth camp during my time playing at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford. I would describe the experience as very impactful, and it really had little to do with basketball, which speaks volumes to the type of people Allison and Mike are. What really stuck with me after that day, and the reason I was also so excited to do this episode, is the care that they showed to the kids and the way they were able to reach down and connect with each player on their level, it was truly remarkable. And something that I would never forget. I am very grateful to have met Allison and to have stayed in touch throughout the years and in our conversation we delved into:The biggest lessons that sports carry over to life off the court How do we define leadership, and the importance of leading from the heart How can we get better at handling conflict that arises throughout our livesHow can players develop a growth mindset on the court and beyondHow can coaches better empower their playersAnd much, much more!! Coach Blake is one of the commissioners of the RBL Basketball program in Vancouver, BC. Commissioner Blake grew up playing RBL as his dad Richard helped start the league in 1997. He played on RBL provincial teams and represented RBL at the U-15 BC club championships as a teammate of former NBA player Robert Sacre.Blake played his high school basketball at Sir Winston Churchill high school in Vancouver. Right in time with the 2022 Maccabiah Games that are happening right now in Israel. Blake has had a tremendous amount of influence both on the players he has the chance to work with at RBL as well as with the players who have had the privilege of playing alongside him. He's one of the leading voices in growing the next generation of hoopers in British Columbia and is doing a great job at it.In our conversation we delved into:The purpose that sports hold in our livesHow can young hoopers benefit from the game besides playing professionallyHow our failures help shape us along our journeyThe power of connections and networking through sports and the influence it may have on other areas of our livesWhat should young hoopers coming up focus onAnd much, much more!!EnjoyFollow us on all these different platforms for lots of great content ⬇️Youtube-https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBVd2cm-CkUHNgkfUuywbVQSpotify-https://open.spotify.com/show/28lmUkC18D8afC99EBBnEC?si=137cbd1d1d834c51Instagram- Instagram.com/sean.performanceFacebook- Sean Ashkenazy Perfomance Coaching - "שון אשכנזי "בית ספר להישגיותTik Tok-https://vm.tiktok.com/ZSeyHYCqr/💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Paul "Ebes" Eberhardt - "Setting Yourself Up For Success"
I personally know coach Ebes from my time playing for him at Capilano University straight after high school. Since our time together he has moved on to coach at Langara and win provincial and national titles and its been amazing to see his much deserved success at the highest levels of Canadian basketball. One of the many topics we talked about is the topic of how to pick a collegiate school to attend and it is one which is not talked about enough. All young hoopers who are hoping to play basketball beyond high school should take a close listen to this episodeHere's a short bio about coach Ebes:Coach “Ebes” eats, breathes and lives basketball. He has been head coach for the Langara Falcons for the past 10 years and he also helps coach the Senior Boys team at West Vancouver Secondary and he still finds time to be on the board of directors for the BC High School Boys Basketball Association.Over his amazing career he has coached at all levels of basketball including high school, college, Provincial Team and even the National Team. He guided his RC Palmer Griffins to the ultimate title in BC High School Sports as they won the “AAA” BC Championships back in 2011. He then followed that up with back to back PACWEST titles in 2013 & 2014 and he led the Falcons to their first National title in 15 years beating Red Deer in the finals in 2014.He is one of only a handful of coaches who has taken three different teams to the BC High School Championships (Magee, McNair, & RC Palmer). Prior to the Falcons, he also guided the Capilano Blues to a PACWEST championship and National Final Four in 2003. Ebe has been very involved in the BC Elite program having been the head coach on 10 occasions winning six Western Canadian gold medals and a National silver medal. This summer he will lead the BC U18 team when they travel to Niagara for the Canada Games. In our conversation we delved into:- What great lessons can sports teach us about life- What it means to be accountable as a high level athlete- The importance of failure on the road to success- How to make the best decision regarding where to play collegiate basketball afterhigh schoolAnd much, much more!!Enjoy!Follow us on all these different platforms for lots of great content ⬇️Youtube-https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBVd2cm-CkUHNgkfUuywbVQSpotify-https://open.spotify.com/show/28lmUkC18D8afC99EBBnEC?si=137cbd1d1d834c51Instagram- Instagram.com/sean.performanceFacebook- Sean Ashkenazy Perfomance Coaching - "שון אשכנזי "בית ספר להישגיותTik Tok- https://vm.tiktok.com/ZSeyHYCqr/💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Jason Siggers - "Staying True to Yourself"
Jason, the reigning six man of the year in Israel's top division, was born and raised in Dallas, Tx., attended Skyline High School and then played 2 years in Hobbs, New Mexico at New Mexico Junior College. After that he attended the University at Albany for my last 2 years of amateur basketball where we won 2 conference championships and 2 NCAA tournament births and earned a degree in Information Science. From Jason has played all over the world as a professional, in Denmark, Switzerland, France, Dominican Republic, Israel and South Korea. He's prided myself on my adaptability, consistency and perseverance. It's been a pleasure watching the development of Jason as a player over the last few season playing in Israel and his winning the sixth man of the year award this past season is a testemant of the hard work and dedication he's been putting in. Whoever has seen Jason's unique style of play will notice that he gets a lot of his points from mid range jumpers, which in today's game a lot of coaches may frown upon. But Jason has been able to be very efficient and very succeful using a skill that a lot of players and coaches shy away from, and is a great example of a player who has focused and honed his strengths and has not let anyone outside of himself define who he's going to be a on the court. In our conversation we delved into:Staying true to yourself as a player and not letting outside influences define your gameHow we can still find value even when things aren't going our wayHoning our strengths rather than focusing on our weaknessesTraining specifically and effectively in creative ways without being dependant on anything external to make it happenTaking care of our body for career longevityOur identity beyond athletes on the courtAnd much, much more!!Enjoy! If you enjoyed this episode and saw the value it may have for your life or the people around you I urge you to share it and subscribe The podcast is called:The School of PerformanceFollow us:Youtube- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBVd2cm-CkUHNgkfUuywbVQSpotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/28lmUkC18D8afC99EBBnEC...Instagram- Instagram.com/sean.performanceFacebook- Sean Ashkenazy Perfomance Coaching - "שון אשכנזי "בית ספר להישגיותTik Tok- https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSRRWWfML/

Yoni Marmorstein - "The Power of Failure"
Coach Yoni grew up on a small island where he lacked a certain amount of exposure and recruitment to the world of high level basketball. At age 25 he set a unique goal for a player his age to make a college team, and worked his tail off to do it. After being cut from 4 colleges, he walked on to Cap U as a redshirt the following summer. He went on to walk on to a pro team in Vancouver and played semi-pro ball as well. Despite not ever reaching his full potential on the court, he attributes the great things he's been able to achieve on and off the court to the amazing lessons he's learnt on his path, not giving up on his dream and persevering through every obstacle life threw his way.I've had the pleasure of personally knowing Yoni throughout his playing career and his story is truly an inspirational one. A relentless quest which young hoopers would be wise to study. You may not be the tallest, or the strongest, or the most skilled player, but if you work your butt off good things will come your way.In our conversation we delved into:- The downfalls of our ego and what we should be motivated by instead- The power of visualization and setting big goals- The harm in constantly comparing ourselves to others- The power of using the game to create a positive change around usAnd much, much more!!EnjoyThe podcast is called:The School of PerformanceFollow us on all these different platforms for lots of great contentYoutube- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBVd2cm-CkUHNgkfUuywbVQSpotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/28lmUkC18D8afC99EBBnEC?si=5c4a61eb5a3f40aaInstagram- Instagram.com/sean.performance Facebook- Sean Ashkenazy Perfomance Coaching - "שון אשכנזי "בית ספר להישגיות Tik Tok-https://vm.tiktok.com/ZSeyHYCqr/
