Environmental awareness subtly expressed through surreal paintings of animals in nature. Amy Guidry is both a skilled oil painter, as well as a knowledgeable marketer. Amy tells about her decision to embark as a full time painter. How she makes her self visible to galleries, in a sincere way. As well as being visible in galleries, Amy explains that you cannot completely rely on them. You will need to be able to sell artwork outside of the gallery system as well. With this, you will also have to be okay with experiencing rejection. Marketing has been a key aspect of her painting career. Setting aside time everyday for marketing her artwork has been an essential part of her day.

Martin Wittfooth uses masterful oil painting techniques to juxtapose animals with a backdrop of a dystopian future. The painting poses the question of what if the cities we lived in were no longer occupied by humans? Animals would come to be the new residents. His paintings add a magical surrealism feel creating beauty out of what could be labeled dystopian. This artist podcast conversation with Martin Wittfooth covered so much more than just art. What it's like living in New York City as a working artists. The challenges of time management was a topic covered because most artists struggle with this aspect of their lives. We discussed the role psychedelics have with seeing the world with a new perspective, and bringing that perspective to his paintings. Martin talked about the podcast he produced called Porter's Square, and how sharing through podcasting can change the conversation about art.
